What's your pet hate about comping?

At the moment, I am multi-tasking ie listening to and watching the Oscar Pistorius trial on You Tube on my laptop whilst I am comping. That means I have my volume turned on and up so it is really annoying when I visit a site to enter a comp that has adverts playing in the background - because obviously it means I cannot hear the trial Grrrr!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

- My address is quite short, so when the third address is REQUIRED, I'm usually forced to make up something. I've been writing random Pokemon character's names in there.
This is so funny, my address is not all that long so after seeing this, I now have a cunning plan to put random book titles in the spare address boxes.
See how much spam mail I get in the near future with
Seven troop
One shot
Private LA
The gods of guilt
Etc.

My address is short too - just house no and street name, town, county and postcode. Often a second line of address is required before the town so I just type NA (not applicable)I would still rather have a short address though than a HUGE one and I have seen some HUGE ones!

always thought the "thanks" button was weird . it should be a thumbs up/thumbs down system instead. it would more accurately reflect the feelings of the users
makes me laff how many people bang on about the advents ....0 -
But on top of all these ‘crimes’ I now find that I also use the thanks button inappropriately, as a marker instead of as a sincere expression of gratitude! So what does that make me? You’ll have to help me on that one because I’m struggling to find any part of my character that is left to attack.
Sometimes we are all a little intolerant to the extent that we forget we're all human... And have choices etc
Sorry you feel attacked, Blu, I'm sure no one meant any of this to be hurtful, just amusing at what pees us off about comping...There's nothing wrong with doing whatever you want to here: if you want to thank or not thank, that's your business - I for one don't care if you thank me when you enter one of my comps... I'm not here to up my likes ratio! :cool:
But I stand by thinking that if you highlight to someone who thinks they've entered a comp by writing a reply to the MSE thread that they've not really entered, or suggesting they remove their contact details because it's a public forum, then you should get the briefest of acknowledgements.0 -

Mine is just:
<House>
<Village - too small for streets, LOL!>
<County>
<Postcode>
Normally lengthen this by putting in "Nr <City>" and / or repeating the village name.
Definitely agree that monster addresses aren't great - or long house names...
I'd be a bit worried about putting book titles etc, that the entry would get rejected on account of it not being completed accurately.0 -
1) Witch hunts for any reason
2) People being scathing about selling prizes
3) The sneering if we enter every comp
4) Jealousy
5) Forum police
6) Rudeness to Board guides
7) Holier than thou attitude
8) People that care about the thanks button
9) People that care about the thanks count
10) People complaining about everything constantly
