***Note from Board Guide***

Okay everyone, I have my official hat on now and need/want to make a few Board Guide comments.

First of all, we need to clarify the original topic of discussion. The original poster was upset about something and decided to have a little rant about it. She also asked for people's opinions about the situation.

AT NO POINT DID SHE IDENTIFY ANY PARTICULAR PERSON OR PLACE. This is an important distinction.

As is the case with ANY board on ANY site, we are only ever able to comment on what we are told. We are all aware there are two sides to everything, but we were asked for an OPINION on the situation, based on the facts we were given, that's all.

We were not asked to judge the gym or the people who run it. We were not asked to deliver any kind of verdict upon which the OP would have acted. The OP was obviously upset and annoyed at the situation, she merely wanted to know how other people would have felt in the same instance.

People have offered their take on the situation and although disagreements are apparent, everyone has managed to say their piece without becoming too argumentative or derogatory.

It has been accepted that posting a private message was an error of judgement and there is no mileage in continuing to bring up the actions of a particular poster, regardless of our personal opinions on this matter.

I also see no mileage in continuing the 'this gym is great', or 'this manager is really nice' arguments. The OP did not at any point suggest the gym was not great, only that 1 person on 1 day spoke to her in an unpleasant manner and she felt it wrong.

I think the best thing would be for this thread to die a death now but I see no need to lock the thread at present. However, if any identifiable information is posted, or the tone of the thread disintegrates further, then I shall have no choice but to stop the discussion at that point.

If anyone disagrees with this, I'd be happy for them to get in touch with Abuse who will consider whether any action should be taken.

OMG! What is wrong with some of you!!! (not all of you, most of you understood!)

As aliasojo said in a previous post I merely posted on this board to get something of my chest (is it not the vent board???).

I only posted myself on here 3 times and considered the matter over and done with. I purposely did not mention the gyms name or the name of the person I spoke to.

I cannot believe lady_noluck. In no way did I give her permission to post my PM, but I will show you it now so you can all see that I never intended to start a witch hunt in any way.

"It was the **** gym. I can't fault the gym itself, the equipment and staff are fantastic and my daughter always enjoys herself, however the way I was spoken to yesterday really upset me.
My husband spoke to the guy in question and he apologised several times about the way he spoke to me and said I was to take the missed sessions. He said they will be re-printing all the leaflets so as not to confuse other people.
Please do not let my experience put you off using a fantastic gym. Just bear in mind that if you miss a session you will probably lose it."

whilst I see your point that it is the vent board ......once you post anything in an open forum you will get responses both good and bad......

and whilst you did not give her permission to publish yours I believe that has been cleared up and you should not now be publishing hers

unless of course you have her permission

I'm just trying to clear everything up. As you can see it was never intended to go so far and I have hardly even looked at the thread since I first posted it.

I completely understand that people will continue to post their opinions on this, which is fine by me as long as they understand my above post.

I will delete her part of the message though if it makes you feel better, although I took her posting it originally as it being ok.

I have to say I didn't see hers nor did I see yours posted by her......just the edit from the board guide.....and I know you were attempting to clear things up but I was merely pointing out that to a great extent the minute you post anything even on vent ..................it's then open to all and as I didn't see her post her pm I didn't think it should be done by yourself either ...................if you see what I mean.

Would it not be kinder if we got back to discussing the original issue instead of disecting the actions of another poster no offence to anyone intended i just feel we are losing sight of the original thread but thats just my opinion and i apologise if i've gne a read it all wrong :eek:
