    NOT marks and Spencers!

I was fitted by then and its completely wrong! back was riding up and the front wasnt sitting on my body, was sticking out.

I was impressed with Bravissimo, lot better fit there

I was fitted at Marks & Spencer's at Bluewater a couple of weeks ago and was very happy with their service. I think it depends on the sales assistant.

The lady didn't measure me. She just told me to take my top off and asked me what bra size I was wearing. (36C) She told me the back was riding up so I needed a 34 and I was probably a D or DD cup. She went off and and got me a selection of bras in both sizes and I tried them on. She saw me with a D on and said that I was probably a 32E! So I tried on a 32E and that was too small. So she said that I was a 34D but might be a DD in some padded styles.

I brought a selection of their £8 and £6 bras and am very happy. :D

as i have already mentioned in this thread, I wear a 36D bra but i find it rides up at the back and the cup is too small so i presumed i needed to go down to a 34 and up to a DD or an E.

I ordered 10 bras from figleaves 2 each of 5 various sizes, but none fitted

I ordered 11 bras from la senza, 2 each of 5 different sizes and then one that was £5 in the sale that i thought might fit. again none of them fitted.

yesterday i went to m&s and asked for a bra fitting, they said they were too busy and fully booked but agreed to do a "quick measure". the lady said the D cup i was wearing was too small, she said to miss out a DD and go for an E. she also said she thought 36 was correct and the reason it was riding up could be due to the cup not fitting correctly. that was it.

i then tried on 6 t shirt bras myself, 3 x 34E and 3 x 36E, a light pink, a nude and a black in each size. i thought that 3 of them fitted ok-ish, the pink 34E and a black and nude in 36E, so i bought all 3 and was pleased when they came to £7 less than i thought as it was buy one get one half price. when i got home and tried them again the cup on all of them was far too big :( although they looked fine under a t shirt, but when i took the t shirt off it was all gappy in the top of the cup and i could poke and pinch the material, and even worse when i lifted my arms up

so now i have to return them to m&s and try 34DD and 36DD when i was told to miss out the DD and go straight to the E

A mans perspective (sure it counts here...;)) - bravissimo is by far the best place to get measured. There's actually some place for me to sit and a magazine to read.

Beats loitering in debs with old grannies looking at me like I'm a perv and shaking their heads in disapproval...

I was in M & S the other and there was a guy waiting for his missus, he looked really uncomfortable and it put me off looking for the sports bra I really needed.

I went to my little local shop yesterday and came out with two perfectly fitting bras in completely different sizes. I have been losing weight and my back size has gone down 2 inches and I am now in the smallest bra size since my teens! In the new proper fitted bra my jackets fit so much better.

The best person to measure you up for a bra, would be an NHS breast specialist. (No I'm trying to be funny or silly!) Think about it, he handles a greater variety of breasts in a single day than most shop assistants in the bra section do in a year. So if you have a neighbour, or family member who specialises in this field of medicine (or an enthusiastic medical/nursing student who has just covered this as part of the course), you may want to look past the embarrasment and ask.

Haven't really got much to add to all the advice so far given, but I would go with a broad fit from a respectable company like Johnny Lewis or Selfridges over at the Trafford Centre if they do it and then just try different bras as like with clothes and shoes the size may be the same on the label but between brands the actual size could be way different.

My wife has found some amazing bras from a Japanese company called Wacoal she bought online, bit expensive (£40 I think) but she doesn't now wear any others, great fit, comfy and form looks great under most types of clothes, she's on the smaller size (AA) so for what it's worth good luck!

I got measured today :o OMG what a circus. I had 2 ladies in the changing room with me in the end who were commenting on the fit etc. All I can say is WOW - what a difference the right size bra makes :D . £73 for 2 bras  but my boobs are now where they were intended to be (with a little help) and they look fantastic. The only problem I will have is finding the size as I need a GG cup:o .

    just to update the above

i returned my 34E and 36E bras to m&s today because they were too big. i tried on some 34DD and 36DD (after being advised by the lady in m&s to miss out the DD and go for an E!)

the 36DD fits properly!!! :T so the 36D i have been wearing wasn't too far out in the end. i managed to get a black pin stripe bra for £16 a nude t shirt bra £14 and light pink t shirt bra for £16 but it was buy one get one half price so the nude one was only £7 in the end. :j

so i think it is best to find a correctly fitting bra yourself by just trying on various sizes until you find a size that fits
