  • I run a top end hotel, and without doubt the best quality loo rolls are the luxury ones that we buy off Mill Sales Direct, the only trouble is that when they put them on offer they always sell out very quickly.

I bought sainsbury's own brand this month rather than Andrex.

I couldn't even tell the difference.

Me too, as Sainsbobs loo rolls were on offer. Much better quality and lasted a lot longer. I will be buying Mr S's in future.

TBH I only carried on buying Andrex for the points, but the scheme has really gone downhill over the last 6 months.

To enter competitions you now have to pay with points (one current comp will charge you 6 points to enter), the rewards are poor and you are now required to pay P+P on many puppy purchases.

I have a few hundred points but probably won't be adding to them anymore. I'll stick with Charmin.

Just my two peneth worth but I have noticed this too. While sitting on the loo thinking about this in great detail...... sorry I wont go there

But really, this is just another example of producers trying not to pass on raw goods inflation to their customers. Just make the loo roll a little lesser ( so they think unnoticable ) quality and keep the price the same, or just a very marginal increase.
