Trying to study for my interview (its competency based so I need examples for different scenarios), and I'm finding it hard to settle. The house is busy (OH doesn't start till next week and SS has found out the company he works for has been bought over so is panicking), I've shut myself in the dining room. Feeling quite restless.

The way he's talking KW its like he's trying to make sure he's paid off. OH basically said well if you get paid off an you get a job in the city where will you stay? I think he now realises no job then he's not staying here. SS tried to say he could stay with one of his friends. This particular friend (who is 23) has a partner and a baby so SS isn't going to be able to stay there long. He's gone off in a huff.

I've just had a cupsoup (from the cupboard hoard) and a slice of bread. OH keeps trying to put me off studying (well prepping) and asking when I'm next taking a break.

I think it went ok KW, I should hear if I'm through to the second round on Monday. Keep your fingers crossed. Getting bored at home I need to get back to work.

Kept food shopping to a minimum today, just the essentials.

:wave:Hello everyone. Hello HAW. How are you?

No word yet, they are apparently interviewing the last person today. I've had emails from friends I made whilst working there and they have their fingers crossed! So hopefully they'll say yes and I'm through to the next round. The second round is a presentation with two of the directors.

As for other jobs, its been a mix of "we're still waiting to hear" (that's the agencies waiting to hear from the companies), a straight no or just nothing. I've applied for over 150 jobs now since Christmas. I just want to get working again (and bringing in money!). I'm glad I have savings to be able to pay for bills etc but its not nice seeing my hard earned savings go down as I'm not working (does that make sense?) :(.

As for food, trying to be sensible. Bought the minimum at the weekend. I stopped at the butchers this morning and bought 4 rolls, 15 slices of cold meat and 4 Cumberland sausages. It came to £2.50. I was surprised. The reason for the top up? OH started his new job this morning. He's done nothing but moan about it (its £2 an hour less than his last job), but we need money coming in. I've applied for jobs (temp) that I wasn't keen on but would have paid the bills. This job he's in is permanent and I keep saying to him once he's been in there for a few weeks the may put his money up. It is quite a manual job so hoping he's ok. So the top up shop gave me rolls and cold meat for his lunch tomorrow, lunch (roll and cold meat) for me and some sausages to put in with plain ones for a sausage casserole (do you think that would be ok using Cumberland and plain pork sausages in a casserole?).

Its actually quite nice to have a bit of peace and quiet to apply for jobs, do some housework etc. When OH is in I couldn't get anything done he was constantly asking what was I doing, when was I finishing, could I help him with something etc etc. We haven't had the easiest time lately and had some horrible rows. When I told him how much it was taking its toll on my health he apologised and he's drawn a line under it. I just hope he keeps to it. He's still going on about SD, we were over seeing a friend of mine (i'm actually friends with her Mum) to give her a hand with a few things before her and her partner have their baby. Now even though this girl is around 2 years older than SD, OH keeps comparing them. My friend unlike SD has never stolen, lied, cheated, taken drugs (need I go on?). So I feel its an unfair comparison. Now I'm not saying people don't change but SD even after 3 years out of our lives is still upto the same stuff, she's just a bit more sly about it. I've said to OH if he wants to contact her again he an but he says he never wants to see her again after everything she did. I've suggested he contacts his ex to get a DNA test (even though SD is an adult now) as the question was never answered as to whether she actually is his (OH's ex was seeing a number of people at the time she got pregnant with OH's daughter). OH's family always thought it was strange that when he and his ex split, the ex wanted the girl but not her brother (my SS) even though she gave birth to both. In the end she decided she wanted money rather than any of the kids and OH got sole residency and the courts told the ex to stay away completely and pay maintenance (which she took ten years to pay). But my SIL still reckons that SD is not actually OH's. OH decided not to have a DNA test at the time as SS was 6 and old enough to know what was going on. She looks nothing like my OH or her brother, is very fair (SS is spitting image of his Dad with brown hair but fair skin) and she has dark eyes and dark skin (in fact when out shopping years ago people commented she looked like me, dark eyes although I have fair skin. The ex had light eyes and fair skin as did her parents), it would be good to finally put it to rest.

Well SS got a text from SD. She needs money supposedly for electricity as its about run out (or so she told her brother). Now SS works night-shift so he got the call shortly after my last post and he headed over to see his sister. Now SD has a boyfriend (who apparently has their bank card.....really? err sorry don't think so), now although she doesn't live that far away the boyfriend has siblings living on the same set of streets. Why couldn't she have borrowed £10 from them? (That's the amount she supposedly wanted). Now the fact SS has been away a few hours says to me its more than a tenner his sister is after and he said a very strange thing to me before he went out the door. He said that at least he'd arranged to see his sister this weekend and would ensure he got his money back then. Is he trying to tell us (as we thought) he's been lending her money but not getting it back? Oh goodness knows!!!!!

Got text from OH, he hates the job :(.

Sausage casserole in the oven, just deciding what to put with it!

I've got a second interview!!! :j. Need to do a presentation on customer expectations. Keep your fingers crossed!

SS? I told OH what happened yesterday, he's going to leave it and see what happens with it. Every time the phone rings SS wants to know who it is. Now it wouldn't be for him as he's been told not to give out the house number as he has a mobile.

OH? Still hating the job. After I dropped him off I went to the nearest town and got bits and pieces for my friends baby hamper. I also got some packets of noodles (10p a pack) and some pate (29p, great for toast as lunch or a snack).

Add £7.11 to my 2014 total from tarot. Its not a lot but every little helps at the moment. Off to check bank, update my clear out list etc and then back to my presentation.
