Hello, how is everyone? Been applying for a lot of jobs. Interview yesterday and they've come back today with more questions. My former work would like me back but they don't have money in place as yet. I need to find work soon as I really don't want to have to dip into the savings I've built up.

OH had to tell his current employer about SD (his DD and her antics in the past), his job is temp at the moment but they wanted him to go perm. So he had to tell them about past (long story but SD caused all sorts of trouble over many years and revelled in getting other people into trouble. Some but not all we managed to prove wasn't true iyswim), his boss has said he doesn't think he can take OH's perm application forward. He appreciated that OH was honest but without certain paperwork he wouldn't be able to do the job. I cried as I thought all the stuff with SD was behind us. SS just isn't getting the fact his sister is still causing fall out so many years on. SS is the only one that still speaks to her. The rest of the family have nothing to do with her. Sorry if anyone new reading this thinks this is harsh but this [STRIKE]girl[/STRIKE]now woman did an awful lot of things over many years. She did receive treatment for it but fought against the system and tried t make up stuff about the staff treating her. No matter how nice someone was to her she'd turn on them (she tried to accuse her brother of kicking her door in and put the hammer that was used on her door in his car under the seat after sending him into a shop, he only got away with it because her neighbour saw the people that did it and on that date SS was at an event. SD took revenge on her neighbour by pouring brake fluid on their car. She's never said sorry to anyone and still doesn't think she has done anything wrong.). So I'm quite upset as OH might now be out of work as the temp work there is drying up. :(

I have the hospital tomorrow for a check up. How am I? Not as good as I could be but I don't do well sitting about. Keep your fingers crossed I get a job soon.

I'm finding it pretty cold so the heating has been on all day (keeping the thermostat at 17 though and off at night) and has been since Christmas. Dressing in layers (and slipper boots I got at Christmas) and I have a blanket over my lap as I type. I normally work in the dining room but I sat in there yesterday and was freezing (patio doors). I think I might put up thicker curtains to try and keep the heat in. Is anyone else finding it cold?

    Hi there,

Have you had, or do you get blood tests done tomorrow? if you are really feeling cold when others are not you may be anaemic, as I guess would be quite normal after what you have been through. You may already have this covered, but as one who suffers from anaemia from time to time this was my first thought when reading above post.

Fingers crossed on the job front, but so sorry that the family (step) stuff still impacts on your lives so much. :)

Thanks Maddiemay, I was anaemic at last check up. I've been taking spatone (iron water and vit c) and multivitamin on advice so hoping when they check it this time it will be better.

SD doesn't appreciate just how much misery she caused. We had friends who listened to her tales and have barely spoken to us since it was proved not true (I suppose that means they weren't true friends to begin with). It'll be 3 years soon since we last spoke to her. I saw her just after we last spoke to her in a shopping centre (I was on my lunch break with a then colleague), said hello and she shoved me over and swore and spat at me. Charmer isn't in it. I know it hurts OH, as its his daughter. I know he blames himself but he's been told it was nothing he did at all (she got everything, 'treats' and new things because she deliberately broke things i.e. straighteners as her old ones weren't ghd's and OH went without new clothes and sometimes food so she got what she wanted).

    More than 9p I can guarantee! :p

On a plus note, I sold an item yesterday for £22, so that should help to make up for it :D

    Aw unix *hugs*

Sorry to hear about OHs job. Some people would prob ask why did he just not say, but I know myself I'd have to be up front and honest, even at the risk of losing out. Fingers crossed for good karma in return for his honesty :)

Some people are selfish. And that's being polite. And selfish people do crazy things. I'm hearing about it almost every day from the girls. It's heartbreaking. But there's nothing you can do. Just try to put it behind as much as possible and move forward.

    Thinking about you.

    Thanks HAW.

Check up at the hospital was a farce from start to finish. I was nervous about being back there as that's the first time since the mc. Parking there is a nightmare. The hospital moved from a 80 acre site (which is still sat empty) with thousands of parking spaces to a small site with 300 spaces most of which get used by staff. The bus service to there is awful so we arrived 40 minutes early and then it took 25 minutes to get a parking space. When we finally got in there, there was no sign of my name on the appointment list when that was finally sorted they had put me down to see another department not the one I was supposed to! When I finally got to see the correct person they basically said they couldn't tell me anything else I hadn't already been told and gave me 2 leaflets. When I asked for a check of my blood iron levels etc they told me that would mean another appointment!!!!

OH is speaking to his boss tonight about the permanent job as the boss has been speaking to personnel to get guidance about whether the paperwork is required.

When OH and I came out of the hospital we went for fried chicken (bad I know, considering we're watching the pennies), but it was lovely. I've also been bad since I came home and scoffed 6 Christmas chocs I had left over.

Job hunting took another twist today. Got a call from agency I used for last role, asking if I'd applied to a specific firm. I was honest with them and said one of their former agents had approached me about it (which isn't allowed apparently), but I wasn't about to lie about about it. I was honest with the agency (they did well out of me getting paid their cut for the 11 months I was working my last temp job, the cut is paid by the company, not me), and told them if they culd get me something I'd be happy to work for them again but I couldn't just sit back and rely on them I have had to apply elsewhere. It seems their former agent will get into trouble for approaching me (as he was one of the staff that dealt with me directly on my last temp assignment). They think my last company will have me back but its a matter of when than if.

Dinner tonight is baked potato (I did two last night but OH didn't want his and I'm determined not to waste anything), ham and salad. I'll make OH sandwiches for his work. Ham, Cheese and pickle.

I am slowly working my way through all my shampoo/conditioner and other toiletries. I'm determined to work through everything before I buy anything else. I have lots of bars of soap so I am using these rather than liquid soap in the bathroom for handwashing.

I'm trying to complete lots of surveys as well (not a lot of cash ones about), but just sent off for my first voucher of the year. £10 for Boots. I can use this towards presents/toiletries etc.

OH's boss didn't phone. OH tried calling him (the boss arranged it) when the time had passed when the boss was meant to call. There was no answer, then a text came through from the boss saying OH isn't required for the shift tomorrow and that the agency would be in touch. Now we don't know whether that just pertains to the extra shift OH was supposed to do or his normal shift or just not come back after his shift tonight. I'm angry that the boss arranged the call and then avoided it completely. Now there might be a perfectly good reason he didn't call but that doesn't explain the ambiguous text. I just hope it means OH isn't going to be out of work.

I have a telephone interview tomorrow, please keep your fingers crossed. I'd like to go back to place I worked before but this job is permanent. The place I worked before if they get funding sorted it would still be temp.

Hello everyone, the telephone interview didn't go well. Lots of technical questions on stuff that wasn't in the ad. OH has been laid off, his boss sent him a text this morning. He's not pleased and neither is his agency. I burst into tears when he told me. :(

A little bit of luck would be nice (with everything), SS has made up with the friends he had met through his sister (they're bad news) and has started all his real cheekiness again. He says (and I don't know whether this is true or made up by him) that his sister said it was just as well I mc'd as I'm too old. If its true she's as nasty as I thought and hasn't changed if its not true and SS has made it up..... I don't know what to think. :(

How is everyone? SS has stayed out of our way all weekend. I think what was said has been SD and he's repeated it not realising how upset I would be.

OH wants to try and fix the broken bathroom scales, I've told him to bin them. Whilst at my Gran's she mentioned I still had an old manual set there (cheapy ones I used for weighing luggage), they are still going strong so they're now home and in the bathroom. The dehumidifier is doing its job and the ceiling and tiles are slowly drying out (getting about 80-100ml of water a day). Back doing my tarot job but only been on today, made ~£7 so far. Not brilliant money but it'll pay for petrol or food. OH seemed a bit off me starting it back up but told him whilst we're both job hunting we have no choice.

OH took me for my birthday meal today (its tomorrow), tried to convince him it wasn't necessary and could wait till we're working but went for something cheap and cheerful and they know us well there when OH explained it was for my birthday they paid for the starter.
