Uni vs' The Beast Pt 2

I've just done my good deed for the day and offered money off vouchers I have for Pampers stuff to a lady I know. Before all of you shriek, no I'm not
. I registered for all these clubs when I started making nappy cakes but I prefer Huggies in my nappy cakes (I think they roll easier). So thought i'd pass them on to someone that could use them rather than waste them.

I've had to say 'bye' to a couple of what I thought were really good friends. They were sucking me dry I guess. I'm naive and they took advantage of my good nature.
I prefer to stick with the true friends who actually do care about me
I've got a long standing friend (I'm talking we've known each other since I was in my teens, she's older) who is acting very strange. I posted about her in my last diary (diy friend), who would be normal then disappear. No texts, no calls, no emails..... and claim she was ill/no time/too busy etc etc...... yet she had time to go on the very famous social media pages and post there. Well she's at it again. I thought we sorted things out and she called me one week I called her the next for a catch and we arranged she'd call me the week after, the call never happened.... and that was 4 weeks ago.. no text, no email.... nothing yet she's been on to FB and posted pictures of huskies (in general not sent to anyone specific) knowing I'll look at them.....she neither owns or likes them (she prefers cats to dogs). Yet on Tuesday I logged into the Business Social Media webpages I am a member of and you can check who has looked you up on that. There she was, she'd looked me up. Now I must stress this business one is solely that, it was designed as a job/career board more than anything else. So why look me up there?
.......................I'm afraid I got quite upset (why look me up there then tell me she's too busy/tired/abducted by aliens...to return texts or calls?) and angry so I sent her a message......Now I don't think she's realised I can see when someone has looked me up........So my message said "You could have just texted or called instead of viewing my profile you know"
Has she replied? Nope. I must stress that this was my best friend for years, she came to my wedding. Helped me with the favours, did a reading at my wedding and it was only in March she begged me to highlight her hair, which I did (meant she got it done for cost of materials at £20 instead of £120 in hairdressers) and turned her bright red hair into honey and ash blonde streaks and it looked fantastic if I do say so myself. It took 2 sittings and 12 hours of my time but I was pleased with it.
I'm going to a craft fair next week and I may bump into her,.... I might not be able to keep my mouth shut. :silenced:. I'm now wondering if its not me (as I thought) but her as no one from our time at uni speaks to her at all now and there was a large group of us that were quite close. Even now I still get a christmas card from one of my other friends from that time and they are at the other side of the world!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I seriously doubt it's you. That all seems waaaaaaaaaaay too weird! Def not 'normal' behaviour!!
And you've friend at the other side of the world who thinks you're worth sending a christmas card to: that says a lot about youWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Thats such a random situation, some people really are funny. I really dont know why you'd not bother to send a text (it takes 2 seconds) yet look someone up on their business profile thingy..
If she makes a point of talking to you and apologises then be honest with her, a true friend will listen to you and try and give you an explanation for her frankly odd behaviour. But if she doesnt give you the time of day, I think you should stay away from her. You dont need the extra upset in your life.
Thanks for the tips on charity shops by the way, I def will check them out! Pinterest is good for home made gift ideas too.Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom0 -

Well said guys. Thank you
. She's done it before, twice! So 3rd time? I don't think there is an excuse, she was quick enough to get in touch when she wanted her hair done on the cheap. I didn't take anything for doing it (she brought me a herb plant as a thank you), but the night her hair was done she came over with her OH. They knew we were going to order takeaway (mentioned before hand so if I was busy with her hair me and OH didn't have to cook), anytime before we've always split a bill but this time the pair of them sat back and let my OH pay the whole bill and they both ordered a Chef's Special! I really don't know what her problem is. We might have same qualification but I'm not going to berate her for whatever she wants to do (I never have, always supported her and OH gave her daughter some work when she needed money!) its the only thing I can think would be her problem. But I have worked very hard for what I have. Its been a hard slog and yet through 1 year total unemployment and severe illness, I'm still here. I may have to face facts she's not a friend anymore...... and thats quite sad actually.........:(....... but if you read Pt 1 you'll see her referred to a number of times so its not as though I didn't give her plenty of chances.

I must check out Pinterest, I am a member. A few years ago (using recipes from the xmas board on here) I made Spiced Coffee and Snowman Soup which both went down well. But this year its going to be mini sweetie hampers (the cellophane hamper put into little gift bags and a candy cane attached to the front) and jars of home grown herbs on a star mirror candle plate and wrapped in cellophane. I may do other things but thats as far as I've got so far. Will have a wee look at Pinterest tonight before Wartime Farm comes on.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Morning All, I logged in last night but it said the forum was down. I've just updated my figure for Goliath (still to sort out Beast as expenses payment to make today) and my balance is £116.99 less than it was last month. I'm actually quite chuffed, is that sad?
. Would be nice if by my next statement I can get it below 10K. I think this weekend I'm going to list a few things on ebay and see if I can trim off a few more pounds off it.
I've not had the best morning. The shirt I wanted to wear (that I bought in July in a CS) doesn't fit now. It fitted at the time, so either I've put on weight or its shrunk when I washed it after buying it, the person driving into the station before me decided to slam their brakes on for no apparent reason other than they could have gone straight on and parked where there was spaces but no they wanted into the second row and there was someone else trying to park there and I was late as it was, and then once I got off the train (I'm at one of the other offices today) a car went past at speed and went through a huge puddle and I got soaked. My waterproof jacket protected my top half but my trousers are soaking from the thighs down. No hand driers here unfortunately and I'm not allowed to go out until lunch time so I'll have to wait for them to dry
. OH said go get myself another pair of trousers but can't leave office without permission (the joys of not being permanent staff).

What a morning! Everything always happens at once doesn't it!
I need to nip out but the weather really is horrible..grrr!
Great news on seeing that debt go down, I bet when you get it past the 10k mark you'll feel like you've really made some progress. Well done! :jxTotal: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom0 -
Thanks Pencakes, if I could have my time over I would definitely change a few things which would have meant my debt not lasting this long. Some things were out of my control... redundancy and time taken to get another job, illness and SD (who was quite happy to sabotage anything her father or I did and steal anything). But in the here and now, I'm happy, OH is happier and we at least have peace back in our lives and can enjoy time together which is something we didn't get to do before.
Where's the nail biting smiley when you need it? I have seen a gorgeous pair of knee high heavy leather boots, biker style but I'd get away with them for work as I wear trousers with a heavy sole, ideal for winter. They are Hush Puppies, so not cheap at £50. I can go through Quidco and get 8% back. Should I? I would use them both in work and out of. Am I being silly?
Here they are:-

Off to check bank account as my wages are due in at some point today.
