I've come round my mum's for a couple of hours to escape.
Work this one out. We've put his parents up and given up our very comfortable bed and are slumming it on airbeds (which have given me a bad back). They have taken up residence on my very comfortable sofa, so OH and I have been relegated to dining room chairs (comfy for a bit, but start to ache the back after an hour or so).
We went out today and took my car (therefore using my diesel) and OH paid for lunch (£40 for the 4 of us). We then had to get some food shopping, and they found some stuff they wanted, so OH paid for that too!!
If it were my mum, she would have offered to put some money towards the diesel or lunch or at least paid for the shopping she wanted. They have pots of money, and I'm starting to see why!!

I can't handle this!! I've had to park in the road as his dad is in my space. His dad is camped out on my sofa watching a Western. His mum is camped out on my bed watching a murder mystery. My dining table is covered in rubbish and surrounded by airbeds. I'll just go and sit in my car shall I??
Roll on tomorrow when they go home.

I know it's a little late this time as I think they have gone home now? But could you stay over at your Mum's next time they come? They don't sound like people that I could stand to be around for more than 5 minutes!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

Yeah, I might seriously think about doing that next time. They might think it's rude though and it will just cause so many more problems.
They have gone now. I went to look after my niece and do the school run and they had left by the time I got back. Nice eh? I told them what time I would get back last night, and they couldn't be bothered to wait around. Never mind though, at least they have gone.
Went out for a drink last night (in my car again) and OH paid for the drinks. They're just so unbelievably tight with money. We're going up there on the 16th/17th November as it's her birthday. Birthday or not, I'm going to tell OH to pay for nothing (bet he does though). They're coming back here on the 18th December, but it's only for one night thank goodness.

Right then, money post as promised. 68 days left of 2012. Means I need to earn £41.82 a day.
I've earned a rather impressive £72 today, so I'm going to have a nice relaxing evening at home tonight, sitting on my comfy sofa, before getting an early night in my comfy bed

Thanks Beccie :A
I'm so annoyed with OH's parents. They said to OH that they didn't feel welcome. How can I make anyone feel more welcome?? I gave up my sofa, TV, parking space, bed. We drove them around, paid for their lunch, I got food in for them especially, paid for drinks, even paid for some of their shopping. Maybe OH and I should stay in a hotel next time so they can have the flat completely to themselves and I could get a red carpet to put up the stairs for when they arrive.
Some people are so ungrateful . They couldn't have felt that unwelcome though as they want to stay 2 nights in December now. I think I'm definitely going to stay at my mum's!!

Emz, some people are hard to please. It's their loss just don't invite them again!
Well Done on earning that despite everything! :j0 -
Bless you one of my Ex's had paren'ts like that... it was a nightmare - they'd decend for a week at a time take everything over his mum was always trying to be helpful but i'd come home from work to find all the furniture rearranged and she'd cook dinner but EVERYTHING was boilded to death, i wouldnt' mind but they food bill was 3/4 of my budget that week because madam and sir expected a full fry up every morning, and a full meat/veg dinner everynight and boy did they eat! also he'd land on the sofa lunge across it and and never move at all - she would never do anything really useful like hoover or the ironing :rotfl:
I have to say when I broke up with the ex that was one of the positives
we are saints you and I!
