Right, been number crunching. In order to be able to clear the arrears and stay on top of other bills in time for 2013, I need to earn £2,759.26. This is taking into account what my OH pays towards the rent and bills, but doesn't include my DLA, so I can use that to buy food, petrol and other expenses.

That means earning £36.31 every day for the rest of 2012. I've made a good start today, by sending off an invoice for £42 worth of work. That should be paid by the end of this month.

In terms of Christmas, I've worked out that I need around £350 worth of cash and vouchers. I'm only counting the rest of October and November for this, so I need to get an average of £7.61 a day for that. Today is covered, as I already have £10 in Amazon vouchers.

One step forward, two steps back :(. Bad day today.

Firstly, I've got another cold. I've been trying to work, but my head is pounding and I'm going from hot to cold all the time. I only got around 4 hours sleep and the cough is starting with a vengeance.

Secondly, I received my new gas and electric bills, so I've got even more to clear now. £2,093.70 to be exact.

Not sure whether to carry on, or rest up for a few days, and start again Monday. If I do that, I'll have to earn around £40 a day.

One thing's for sure, I can't do anything else today - I feel terrible. I'm going to put my PJs on, watch a movie and get an early night (or try to anyway).

    Hi Emz,

I'm really sorry to hear you have the current bug that's doing the rounds.

I guess you just need to see how you feel each day regarding what work you do. Although your health is paramount, but I know you know that.

Get well soon. I hope you feel lots better in the morning. I find that when I have a cough that it really helps me to sleep if my head is as propped up as I can make it without actually sitting up. Covonia for tickly cough works wonders too, if you're ok taking it.

    Hello

I'm still around. Thanks for the get well wishes :A. Cold is still hanging around - it's the cough at nighttime that's the worst :(.

I have been doing some work, but not doing too much. OH's parents are descending on us tonight - something which I could really really do without!!

Not talking to OH at the moment, which should make for an interesting atmosphere. He had a major paddy in Tesco last night. And I mean major!! When we got home, he threw the shopping we got into the road (the shopping was okay, nothing breakable). He's 37 for God's sake!! He has apologised profusely since, but I'm having none of it. He was pathetic and he knows it. I swear my niece and nephew are more mature than he is.

Anyway, just checking in. Might have to do a money post on Thursday when the in-laws have gone.
