I don't know if you've had cancer or had a loved one who had it, but you're obviously not thinking straight. You're taking this personally. Like I said, I'm not targeting people with illnesses. I just don't like people taking advantage of their illness to sue people for a lump of money. This has nothing to do with ignorance in law etc. The law is irrelevant. It's morals I'm questioning. Just because OP can sue this employer for money doesn't make it right. It's greedy and malicious act if you look at this incident without getting emotional.

It is also immoral for a employer/prospective employer to treat someone the way I have been treated.

I AM NOT and HAVE NEVER used cancer to sue anyone!!
Take advanatage of an illness.......you really are sick!!

For your information I am not looking for money just for the company to recognise what they have done.

I do not know what your problem is.....but please DO NOT ASSUME!!

    I've been Money Tipped!

Ask yourself this: If the employer offers to apologise on the front page of every newspaper, would you accept this or would you decline and carry on demanding for money? I have taken note the employer has already admitted wrong, that manager's no longer working for the company, and they've later offered you the job which you turned down because apparently you have no faith in them... or perhaps it's because you prefer to sue for money?

You clearly disagree with the OP's actions - so, spare yourself the pain of continuing to read such an unsavoury thread rather than trying to insult her.

It appears to be you that is taking this personally - why?

It almost seems that you are jealous of the OP for having a reason to sue - now that would be disturbing!

You continue to judge people you don't know by you own standards. Based on your recent posts in this thread and others that seems to be somewhere below the gutter.

The OP has actually lost out significantly as a result of this employer's unlawful actions. She was offered a better paid job then the offer was withdrawn, unlawfully, on discriminatory grounds. The offer was clearly only reinstated once the employer realised that they had been found out and had left themselves wide open to a discrimination claim. To give up a job with security of employment to move to an employer who was clearly only offering a job because, legally, they had no choice would be foolish in the extreme.

The OP has said, repeatedly, that her main objective is to get a formal acknowledgement that the employer had behaved unlawfully and to seek to prevent them from behaving in this way again. Legally, the only way to do this is to seek compensation for unlawful discrimination.

In my opinion the OP is fully entitled to significant damages but, if she is unhappy accepting the money, she can donate it to an organisation that supports the disabled or fights discrimination in the workplace.

You utter ignorance of employment law is aptly demonstrated in another thread where you accuse another sick person of lying in a medical questionnaire at interview. If you knew anything at all about the law you would know that it would be a crazy employer who asked those type of questions before a job offer is made. The reasons are obvious to any sensible person, although I realise that excludes you!

Not jealous, just rationale. I'm confident the employer will win against having to pay punitive damages because they've already taken steps to remedy the situation. OP's obviously has not shown signs of wanting to co-operate. Even if OP wins it'll probably be compensation pay, not including punitive damages against the company which is a whole lot more.

Wowsers. Your true colours are shining out now, eh?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

I generally don't answer trolls but I am making an exception for this one and only time. You are demonstrating your ignorance of most things, including the law and tribunal awards. You are ignorant and nasty. If you have nothing useful to say then you really should shut up - at least that way everybody won't realise how stupid you are. Feel free to report this post and get it removed - in the meantime, before it is, perhaps now you know what others, not just on this thread ,feel like when someone attacks them for being ill. This is the third time in two days that you have taken delight in having a go at people for illness. The onlu person around here who is sick is you.

I just did a search on Denla's other posts.... wow! Completely negative put downs:
    - telling people their degree/uni won't count
    - telling them they won't hack self-study
    - telling them they won't get a job
    - telling them they should put up with illegal work practices and deserve no better and should be grateful

    dozens if not hundreds!

Someone rather insecure, poor qualifications and unsuccessful - whose best chance is to try and persuade everyone else to not achieve anything by undermining confidence.... not a nice lady!

You've one of the most genuine complaints I've ever seen and wish you luck....

just look at Denla's post history for a laugh - no idea what their problem is but suspect it's problems in the plural :rotfl:

I'd rather you didn't - I'd really like to see this and think it's something that could really help people. You can ignore the mad lady with the ignore button. Plus SarEL and friends might offer you some useful perspective!

Skibadee - don't worry about Denla. And don't close the thread - if it helps anyone else then its one in the eye for people like Denla that have to put everyone down. Take it as a compliment. ;)

From what I can tell D. can't get a job other than a bit of work experience and has been posting as an "expert" in recruitment for law, accountancy, IT, sales, retail - well everything: Such wisdoms as you can't get a job:

... doing accountancy without a degree from a top uni (LIE) https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/56292551#Comment_56292551
... because employers don't want people who don't live within 5 miles...

real nasty stuff pertaining to be from someone knowledgable....
