Is this Discrimination?

Skibadee don't feed the Troll - she isn't worth the energy, and you do not have to defend yourself.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Not ignorant at all. I never said OP deserves to be discriminated. I'm questioning what OP hopes to gain by suing the employer. If the employer is fined that's alright, but why should OP receive a huge lump of money? I'm sure the OP wouldn't sue if it meant the employer gets fined or is forced to apologise on the headlines. OP probably plans to sue out of the prospect of receiving the lump of money.
Someone - presumably you since the responses were also erased - reports your nasty minded attitude towards cancer sufferers who exercise their legal rights. So you repeat your allegations that the OP is an ambulance chase. Nobody cares what your opinion is, but they do care that you are a nasty piece of work.0 -
It was me who reported Denla's comments, so it seems that MSE now delete the responses as well as the original post (which makes sense, but does increase their workload). I have just reported Denla's recent post too.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Ah that explains a few other things... but it is perhaps a shame that they are deleting the fact that there are people who hold views that are decent. In a recent thread they deleted all the comments that expressed a view that racism of any kind is unacceptable as well as the racist comments reported! Which left it looking quite badly on MSE that what was left was a patent attempt to stir up exactly the racist incident it did!0 -

Interesting. I wonder if they delete all related comments, regardless, or just the ones that have quoted the offending previous post? I haven't noticed on this thread whether that is the case or not.
Edit - just checked back - Denla's recent post has now also been deleted, but the posts by SarEl and Skibadee quoting the offensive comments, are still there. So it seems that the apparent new policy of deleting responses is a bit hit and miss.I'm a retired employment solicitor. In the case of the racist thread, nobody (including me) would quote the comments because they were so bad! But the related posts were still deleted. Then later they delated all the posts! Leaving the OP, a closed thread and a link to an inflammatory article in a thing that describes itself as a newspaper!0 -

Again you lot seem to have issues reading what I typed. I'm not against people with cancer. I just don't agree just because someone has cancer s/he should be able to easily sue for a lump of money. Let's use a healthy person who's been discriminated. This person sues hoping for compensation that doesn't balance out being discriminated (I'd happily be discriminated if it meant I'd receive £50,000+), everyone will call this person greedy and make all sorts of degoratory remarks. But because OP is a cancer victim, everyone's thinking oh must be ok if employer pays OP say £100,000 or something similar.
I don't agree with discrimination and have nothing against people with cancer. I simply don't agree anyone, healthy or a cancer victim, should ever receive a lump of money to 'punish' the employer when the amount is more like winning a mini lottery.0 -

I generally don't answer trolls but I am making an exception for this one and only time. You are demonstrating your ignorance of most things, including the law and tribunal awards. You are ignorant and nasty. If you have nothing useful to say then you really should shut up - at least that way everybody won't realise how stupid you are. Feel free to report this post and get it removed - in the meantime, before it is, perhaps now you know what others, not just on this thread ,feel like when someone attacks them for being ill. This is the third time in two days that you have taken delight in having a go at people for illness. The onlu person around here who is sick is you.0 -

I don't know if you've had cancer or had a loved one who had it, but you're obviously not thinking straight. You're taking this personally. Like I said, I'm not targeting people with illnesses. I just don't like people taking advantage of their illness to sue people for a lump of money. This has nothing to do with ignorance in law etc. The law is irrelevant. It's morals I'm questioning. Just because OP can sue this employer for money doesn't make it right. It's greedy and malicious act if you look at this incident without getting emotional.0 -

No - it's about legal entitlement on this thread - and whether the employer acted within the Law.
We are all bound by Law and if we step outside of legal requirements then we need to be prepared to suffer the consequences.
Rest assured, the Tribunal will look at the facts and measure those against legal requirements - that is all.
Your personal views on morality in this case are not really relevant.:hello:0
