Aldi vs Lidl, which is best?

I leave in a reasonably large town and have all the major supermarkets within a reasonable distance.
I also have an Aldi and a Lidl, both about the same distance away from me, but in opposite directions. Is there much of a difference between the two? Which would you prefer if you had to choose one?
Obviously I will check out both of them in due course, but I'm interested to hear some personal opinions!

As above poster has said, they're both pretty good.
check out what offers are on in which before you go, and use the one that's more suitable for you:
LIDL: http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_uk
ALDI: http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/product_range/shopping_at_aldi.htm?WT.z_src=main0 -
6 & two 3's, they are pretty much the same to be honest each having different special offers.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

I prefer Aldi. I think the food is better quality and also a bit cheaper.Started comping February 2012
Wins so far:
Mascara, dry shampoo, chocolates, Loreal Elvive goody bag.Pot noodle fork , maggi mix, couscous,0 -
Aldi. My local Lidl feels like a warehouse and I can never find anything.
Plus the staff there openly leer at me which puts me riiiiiight off going there.0 -
I'd choose Lidl every time.0

Its hard to say which is best as everyone will have they're own preference or only get to shop at 1 of the 2. I do prefer aldi and not even sure why it is, might be they sell more foods I like. Lidl do have soem good offers on eg the Branston baked beans, aldi for the fruit when its on special.0

I like some things in one and other things in the other lol. My local Aldi does some things I can't find elsewhere [like cheap but tasty packets of mozzarella sticks], but the local Lidl has lots of great Greek products [including a few things I was surprised to find outside of Greece].
So, I'd definitely give both a try and see how you find them. You might decide to alternative your shopping habits to visit them in turn lol.0 -
I prefer Aldi.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0
