Is there any mention in any of your letters from the bank about this being a "Goodwill" offer? This would immediately account fort the apparent discrepancy between what you paid and their redress offer.ok thank you for that. was nice of you to take the time to write that. I think there was from the original car giant letter l. some thing along the lines that we will look into this as good will and that all money will be paid back. but they never stated the price and said it's not them that do it as well.
I did post that up as well if you look at threads started by me you will see it.0 -
Hi,
Im not sure but I think I might be able to help with your figures. Black Horse are currently trying to get away with Pro Rata rebates. This happens when they dont find anything wrong with the sale off PPI but because it is front loaded pay you the extra amount you would have had to have paid because of this. Im assuming that your redress figures are made up of the £897 interest you had to pay cause it was front loaded + interest @8% - tax @ 20% giving you the total of £1116.28.
They tried to do this with me, I challenged it with them and after the 4 weeks they agreed to pay me the full amount owed with ended up being 3 x the initial offer!0 -
right ok. it's all above my head I'm new to this game I have sent my letter off today with the FOS form and paper work so it's just going to be a waiting game now.0

hello all, I have just received a letter back from black horse in response to the letter that i sent them questioning the payment they made to me. bellow is the letter.
I'm am now not sure what to do can any one advise. the leaflet there refer to is. complained to your bank, insurance company or finance firm- but still not happy?
Thank you for your recent letter received by us on 7th November stating that the payment protection policy that was purchased for the above loan agreement was mis sold. !
It is important that we are made aware of any instances where our customer feel that their payment protection policy has been miss sold, however the payment protection insurance for this agreement has already been cancelled in full. All payments that have been made towards the policy have already been refunded. The payments that have been made towards the agreement since cancellation have not included any cost towards the policy- the cost of the policy has been completely removed from the agreement. !
On this basis we have not investigated the complaint further as all costs that were incurred as a result of purchasing this policy have where applicable been reimburse. I trust that this response will address your complaint but if you have any further concerns, pleases let us know. !
In the absences of any further evidence, this letter is our finalmresponce. If this response is not acceptable, the complaint may now be referred to the finance and leasing association. There address is provided in the enclosed leaflet. This complaint is not eligible for consideration by the financial ombudsmen service as they are only able to consider complaints regarding policies that were sold by us between 1st December 2001 and 31st march 2003 and from 14th January 20050 -
Good morning all. Started bright and early today with the phone calls, 1st was to the ombudsman as this was the leaflet provided in with my letter. They have said to be that as the letter states to contact the FLA that I need to do that 1st and the BH make a mistake outing that leaflet in there.
I have spoken to the FLA and they have said that I need to write into them re this matter, so I will have to draft a letter about that this evening.
I will post up the draft once done and ask for your feed back.
This is starting to get long now.0 -
Hi all I have just got a reply back from the FLA about this matter im little confused on what this letter means can any one help explain the 2nd paragraphs. Im not sure if the price they say there is onto of what is already paid out or if there just adding £200 odd to what was already paid.
What do you think is best to do?
