Hit parked car! Need serious advice

Hi all,
I am a first time driver recently started driving car. I was taking my car out of the Morrison parking while i was reversing my car i hit white Merc by mistake. The collision was very light there was not even one slight mark.
The owner of the car was inside the car. I apologized to him about the incident. His car was all fine but he was very rude with me. He was taking picture of my car registeration number both front and back.
He said he was out of duty cop and when i asked for his ID he refused to show me.
He went inside his car and started taking to someone over the phone. I also took the picture of the front of his car and came back home.
I dont know what to do. I am scared. His car was all ok and there was not slighest scratch as i was reversing very slowly.
Could anyone please guide me what will happen now as i dont have his detail and he had my car registeration number.
Am i going to be any part of scam?

He will lkely claim for damage to his vehicle, and maybe an injury.
You should contact your insurers and explain what happened. It would have been beneficial if you'd taken details of any witnesses at the scene.
It may be helpful if you could contact the supermarket and enquire whether they have CCTV covering the area.0 -
~Are you 100% sure that there was no damage.
If any thing does happen, and you are contacted be thankful that he has taken photos, they will be dated and he will not be able to claim for damage that is not there.
Its good that you took a picture and if you can see nothing there, and his photos will be the same so stop worrying.
And fairs fair, if you had a lovely white mercedes, wouldnt you be rude to someone who wasnt taking care whilst reversing and hit your pride and joy.............
If you are contacted, then just tell the truth, stop worrying, pass anything onto your insurance company, that;s what you pay them for, for them to deal with.
Now calm down, they are not going to hang you.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Many thanks for your reply. I am 110% sure there was not even slight scratch. I was reversing very slow and the hit was very minor but the way he reacted surprised me.
Actually he took mine car registeration number photo and I took his car front photo where i actually hit.
I am not worrying about he contact my insurance company, i am only worrying about i dont want to involve any legal trouble.0 -
There wont be any legal trouble,
Look at it another way, If you had put a bloody big hole in his car
you would contact your ins. company to tell them.
His insurance co. would contact yours, yours would admit liability, obviously after speaking to you, then your insurance company would pay for the repairs, that's it.
As it is, if you have a photograph with no damage, no one can argue with it because he has a photograph of exactly the same thing.
He cant put damage there afterwards, there would be no point.
Did he and you agree that there was no damage at the time.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

The only witness was my wife and she was in the car.
I will ask morisson tomorrow if they have cctv in their parking area.
Thanks again for your time.0 -
You took him by surprise.... nobody expects to be minding their own business and be bumped by another car. He was probably shaken and adrenalin was kicking in .... and he was possibly trying to think what to say/do and babbling.
You'll probably never hear another thing.
On the other hand, sometimes there is damage that can't be seen, e.g. brackets of bumper can buckle....
But it's probably the last you'll hear of it.0 -
All this man has seen when you hit his car is an irresponsible driver hit his lovely Mercedes. He's mad, of course he is. I beleive that he has tried to frighten you and its worked by the sound of things.
Perhaps its a good thing, you can learn from it and be more careful in future, his car was obviously there and you cant have looked properly, this will teach you to do so better in future, I;m sure you agree with me.
Life is a learning curve. lol
You probably wont hear anything at all.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
