Offer Rejected

We put an offer in for a property we like but it ha been rejected
It is on the market for offers in excess of £110000 we put in a cheeky offer of £107000! seeing as one on the same road sold for £100000 although the one we want is a semi as opposed to a terraced.
What would you now offer? we have gone back to them and increased to £109000 but haven't heard back as yet - it's been over an hour where's before we heard back within 30 mins!
What are our chances? it's been on the market for a while but we have now been told the lady is in no hurry to sell - didn't hear that earlier though!!

Don't think your offer was cheeky at all -in fact I think you offered too much! The seller is obviously greedy and confused about the value of their property.
Don't feel pressurised to increase the offer - just leave it on the table. There are plenty more fish in the sea!0 -
Whoops just reread your post and see you have already increased your offer - are you really sure about this - you could always retract it?
Is there something unique about the house?0 -
107K offer on a £110K property - first offer I wouldnt have gone in at any more than £99K.
If they rejected this, I wouldnt increase my offer for at least a few days - no matter how much I wanted it.
I wouldnt worry about them not getting back to you yet - they will probably be clapping their hands (thinking you are a bit of a softy).
I do hope it works out for you thoughWell Behaved women seldom make history

We probably should have sat on the first offer but we do think it's worth the asking price funnily enough!
They have someone else interested in the property and according to the agent they have put an offer in close to the asking price although they may be telling porkies!
We will not be going higher than the latest offer though.

They're trying to decide if they can squeeze the final thousand out of you ... then they'll ring back.0

If the terrace sold for £100k, then offers over £110k sounds reasonable. Can't really judge though as I haven't seen either house.
We put ours at "offers in excess of" because this was the minimum we needed, a reasonable price, and it showed we were in no hurry to sell. It sold for £5k over and we ignored all offers under.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

No chance, we're sticking at that!If the terrace sold for £100k, then offers over £110k sounds reasonable. Can't really judge though as I haven't seen either house.

£10K for a bit of extra Garden? i don't even like Gardening :rotfl:0 -
Patience! Buying and selling is a huge decision not one most people make in an hour, you don't want them pulling out having changed their mind right before exchange.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
