Anyone know anyone that launders for a hotel and ask what they use?!0

I love scratchy towels,a good hard scrub with them makes me feel really clean and fresh.I did try using vinegar on my towels to soften them but they were just the same only smelt of vinegar.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

I dont use fabric conditioners and my towels are always soft. We dont have a tumble dryer.
Bring on the vinegar, i say!....another happy bug.........sorry,blogger embracing the simple life0 -
I get the scratchiness out by ironing. Or is my skin just not sensitive enough?

OK FIRST YOU NEED TO BOIL WASH THESE TO REMOVE THE CONDITIONER RESIDUE, THEN DO A QUICK WASH WITH BICARBONATE OF SODA (2 TEASPOONS WILL DO) AND RINSE WITH VINEGAR (40MLS IN THE CONDITIONER DRAWER) AND TUMBLE ON HIGH IF YOU HAVE A TUMBLE DRYER OR IF NOT GIVE EM A GOOD IRON AFTER LINE DRYING. wORKS FOR NAPPIES TOO0

This is a tried and tested method...rub the towl against itself! If that makes sense
The rubbing action makes it fluffy again...but don't ask me how!

it's probably a good idea to give them a good hot wash to remove anything thats on the towels from the dyehouse that produced them.
Worthwhile using a conditioner & acetic acid to soften or White vinegar.
Tumble drying will give you the softest result.0 -
Now my towels are usable again..:T I washed them at 60* and then put a capful (comfort top) of white vinegar into the machine , line dried them and 10 mins in the tumble dryer... and I am very pleased with the results , they are not as soft as new but a great improvement on before ... I guess I will give them the vinegar treatment once in a while to keep them soft...
Thanks everyone saved me ripping them into dusters:T :T#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j
