Making towels soft

Fed up of my crispy towels I asked the internet how to get them soft again, it told me this:
Less detergent
Dissolve detergent first
Hell use liquid detergent instead
Use Vinegar instead of softener
Wash on a hotter setting
Put tennis ball in machine with towels
Wash with only other towels
Tumble dry
I did everything but the words in blue and they're even crisper now, has anybody managed to get harder towels soft, how did you do it, how did it work?0 -
The only way that i have found to get soft towels is to tumble dry.0

I wash mine in washing powder and soda crystals. I also put them in the tumble drier when they are nearly dry.
I have drying balls in my tumble dryer. They make a bit of noise but fluff the towels up nicely.0 -
I quite like a crispy towel, I always feel like its done a better job. They soften after the first use anyway.I wanna be in the room where it happens0

a lot of my towels were getting crispy instead of fluffy recently, so i've started using only vinegar, no detergent at all, with my towel wash in the washing machine (i don't own a tumble dryer). I've only done the towels in 2 washes like this so far, but i think its starting to work

The last few minutes in a tumble dryer works every time.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Yea, I thought it was the tumble drier, I used to use it but my place is too small to fit one in. I thought about going to the launderette...but...really trying to save money here.
Maybe I should try using no detergent at all like balletshoes.0 -
No detergent, put a cup of white vinegar, hot wash, then tumble dry.
Oh & never use softener on your towels.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

The only way to get really soft, fluffy towels is to tumble dry them
In the winter I fully dry in the dryer and in the summer I line dry and finish them off on a 10 minute, low-heat, fluff cycle in the dryer.
