I still remember LPs fondly. Sometimes their sleevenotes were like a book -Dave Greenslade, ELP, Yes and so on are all like works of art.
When I visited New Orleans in the 80s I was surprised how much CDs had taken over from vinyl and I realised we'd be next to lose them.:o
If I remember rightly, Roger Dean said 40m posters and prints of the artwork he designed for Yes were sold.
That's nearly as many as tennis girl scratching her bum! :rotfl:
I think most of my records are worth more in terms of resale value than my CDs.
The real problem with records is how you hide the sheer volume of what you have. If I buy another 300 off a friend then I will have to find somewhere else to store (hide!) them0 -

No not a bit. It is all mumbo jumbo.0 -
Spirit, how did Miss Spirit's meeting in London go? Hope it all went smoothly so she will be more confident next time.0

She was fine. She got herself to the railway station about half an hour early (I am so last minute) and met her colleague at Waterloo so they travelled across town together.
Silly as it sounds it is a milestone as she is such a country girl and is not city/streetwise, but needs to be business like and do what is normal in the course of work.
They finished about 3pm and went straight home. I would have gone shopping when I was 25. Then possibly chinatown.0 -

Oh yes, I would have gone shopping too! Or to the Tate Modern/ the V&A/ etc. Glad it all went ok - I'm sure next time will be less daunting.
I feel like the equivalent of a country girl at work a lot of the time (still), but when you get over the anticipatory panic and try to act like you're not phased, it definitely feels easier when you have to tackle the same feelings again subsequent times. I'm still asking for my 'hand to be held' at work when I'm doing new things (that everyone else who has been there for ages doesn't bat an eyelid at). I am pretty sure that no-one minds and I do make an effort not to ask the same things more than a couple of times max to not wear out people's patience with the 'new girl'.0 -
In fact, I am meeting friends in London for dinner next week, and when we were planning I thought I'd treat myself to the day off and hang out in London. I am meeting some ex-colleagues for a couple of drinks before dinner, and I am treating myself to lunch somewhere I really wanted to try before I left London but didn't manage to visit. Having mentioned the museums, I think I'm going to have to fit in a visit to one too0

I really like how both Hebrew and Arabic look written.
Jeesh LIR - FIR does almost everything perfectly and you can fault him for not speaking Hebrew....Oh yes, I would have gone shopping too! Or to the Tate Modern/ the V&A/ etc. Glad it all went ok - I'm sure next time will be less daunting.

Where I work the people who ask will go far those who don't cos they are too cocky or too timid won't.In fact, I am meeting friends in London for dinner next week, and when we were planning I thought I'd treat myself to the day off and hang out in London. Don't forget to do Amex Foursquare while you are here and if you want to meet up for lunch give us a shout.
This evening I managed to get home (train problem is on the news tonight) then ate a very quick Chinese (from Tesco, 2 main plus 2 sides for £5 down from £14) before being this weeks parent cub helper then stopped on the way home for some roses that DW will find when she goes downstairs tomrrow morning (£5 from coop with £2.50 back from snap and save).
3 snowflakes here this afternoon and now 0 degrees, cold wind and drizzle - you do feel sorry for Generali that the weather is on the turn there....I think....0 -

Evening latin speakers, I need your help. In latin, can relict mean widow (of)? I can see it also means abandoned (by), but the context seems wrong. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.
