Well.....I would say we have done this before tbh. I am sure there are very many with excellent people skills and honour, here included, but never where we go for advice.
If these people don't work out we might look a dh dealing with this via a London firm, though it should not be necessary or necessarily better.0 -

You need recommendations. I agree that it shouldn't need a London firm.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Locals we have asked use a man in the village or a small company in a grade shed in the next village. Or a couple of other similar set ups. A couple with opne foot on London and one foot here use London firms. We would rather not use either of those people...I think personally it's better in small communities to be a little more circumspect about discussing finaces with neighbours, even very professional ones.
It's difficult because it's not like building works where I can judge with my eyes whether I would use their builder or their decorator....
We want a firm who have accts but also tax planning and pension planning financial advice and , the key thing is, who are proactive.
E.g. On a couple of things I have called our firm and said can we do xxx and yyyyy, and they have said...'yes you could have done and it would have saved money but it's too late now'. I want a firm who say...hang on a tick...if you do this, that and this it will be better'. It's their job, not mine. If I was able to come up with the solutions myself I would not be spending o. Them, but this year they have done what we could have done but charged for it.0 -

I'll have to booby trap the place........
It'll be the LLs thinking it's their house and that the law doesn't apply to them...
Now that is spookey PN - Is your home within a block of apartments?
Any chance that you could change the locks pronto?0 -

Less sinister than if they closed the door behind them and tried to hide that they had snooped.

Also, while I intended to shut doors etc this morning, there is still the 1% chance I didn't actually do it.... so I have to start ABSOLUTELY knowing if I did or not.
A cheap contact alarm designed for gates? I think these normally go round things though....like bicycle chains. Ours do anyway.
Something motion detected......0 -

You could fit a motion sensor with light attatched that would give them a scare...
...some of the well learned will be along soon PN and advise you, but I think that you can get portable sensors/light ones that work of a battery.
