Mine lasted 4 days, if it's any consolation.
Got a 30 yr old bottle of single malt as a Xmas present from DW, and the bl00dy thing sat on the bar in my living room and had a staring contest with me.

We have Dry July over here. People get sponsored for charity (cancer - I think we're generally against it but I can check if anyone wants to know). I lasted about 12 days IIRC, not long anyway. That was about 11.5 days longer than anyone expected!
It's a miserable day here today, wet and grey although 26C so not too cold. At least it means that we can open the doors and windows for the first time in days as it's getting a bit whiffy in here. We've got a warm week but not a scorcher this week which is good news. Oh and I start New Job on Monday.0 -
I can't remember the last time I did 12 days 'dry'.
Another new job?! Anything exciting?“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -

Hmmmm. Once lived in a lovely area where we rented out our house. Didn't end up gettng shafted . But other landlords seem to have had a hard tme there. And used the same remedy.
In 2009 this and this happened.
and then in 2011 this happened.
There aren't that many letting agencies in the area but one by one they met the same end. We used the last one to do a runner but had finished with them before this trouble.
Put a shiver down the spine of some of the NPs I might venture.
Some mates had the same thing happen when we were students. The Landlord decided that my mates should pay the rent to him again and was quite put out when they decided not to! He turned up in person as a one man lynch mob. He clearly hadn't thought things through as his intended victims were a group of young men at least one of whom was built like the proverbial brick poo house although he was very much the gentle giant.0 -

Highland Park 40yo for me.
Worked late tonight testing new 'stuff' in our development process.
Not a good result, so failed it and back to square one.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Another new job?! Anything exciting?
The way it has gone is thus:
1. Started Old Job in Feb 2010
2. Got promoted in July 2011
3. New boss's first words to me was, "I hate English people'. That was the high water mark of our relationship
4. I left Old Job and got Temp Job doing about 2 hours work a day and surfing the internet for about 5-6. The bloke that trained me up did a bit on boredom management!
5. After 4 months at Temp Job I am moving on to New Job.
Does that seem excessive?
New job is working providing COO services to a bunch of trading desks. It's a bloody good job and it's a 50% pay rise _party_0 -

Congrats.
I must make an effort this year to change jobs, and maybe even location. Current workload is a b1tch.
Have come to the conclusion that promotions on the back of corporate reorganisations are not always a good thing. The increased workload often exceeds the increased salary.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
