From the world of poor people, some suggested answers would include:
    - not everybody has a bathroom, 1-bed places mostly have a tIIIny shower room squeezed in.
    - once washed, you have to go outside to hang clothes out.... and in most cases outside is downstairs.

I wouldn't relish the extra trouble of working out how to get a washing machine upstairs either....

    :)

Posh alert back to you, not everyone has outdoor space the hang clothes out!

This must be a posh alert word .... on the balance of probabilities and statistical likelihood ... and elimination techniques.

    a] Silvercar posted it.
b] I've never heard of the word/don't know how to say it or what it means.

    Sooo.... what's frape??

    Anyway - posh alert.
    :)

It's posh to be familiar enough with it to use it.....

Firstly, frape rhymes with rape and means facebook rapeie finding a computer/ phone already logged in and posting stuff as if you were the fraped person. Nothing posh about it.

As for the bolded bit, I really don't know how to take that.

That's true.... where I was renting 2-4 years ago I had a garden area ... but it was specifically written into the lease that I wasn't allowed to hang washing out.

Oh - I thought it was the frothy drink that was posted...

As for the bold bit, if I had to "name the 3 NPs who you think have the most wealth, combining income and assets" you'd be on that list.

    :)

    You're a one-person-posh-alert :)

First house we bought had a bathroom with laundry machines in it. We kept that going - the convenience was awesome.

And a TV on a shelf. It was laid out so water couldn't get to places it shouldn't. The owners had done their own wiring but lacked the genes that permit fear.

Actually our next house was scarier-they hadn't done their own wiring but had removed the light fittings on the wall. BIL leaned close to the wall- said something was odd and went back to the bit of wallpaper he'd leaned against with a bulb and, to our horror, it lit up!

...wear shoes in the house. As far as I'm concerned this is pretty much a no-no and I can't understand why people do it
Biggest similar dilemma I ever had was when I got a place 20 years ago and it was brand new and I laid brand new, light grey, pile carpets down..... and I had a friend, who had an overweight brother in a wheelchair..... I'm afraid I hoped they wouldn't pop by to visit/have a look as I didn't want fat muddy tyre marks right the way across the new carpets.... the place was only one room in size, so the tracks would have just about ripped up the whole of the floor/carpet by the time he'd have got in, turned round, then manoevred into any parked position.

    Shame on me ....

    He never came though.

First post zag or first NP post?

My first ever post was re council tax banding. The people on the council tax rebanding thread were a considerable help in getting my house downgraded 1 band. I have no idea what my first NP post was, I'll have to go look.

Meantime, has anyone else seen the latest Liz Jones column. She's basically saying that the sports people at the awards last night looked dreadful. Silly mare:

ETA: have just gone had a look see. My first post on the first NP was to say I was amazed at TWH describing himself as metrosexual. I am still amazed.
