Oh god nikkster, I hope nothing goes wrong. A day by day gestation watch will be boring, but the nation in mourning? Frightful ...I can imagine it now...'maybe the would have called here Diana...'

Fwiw, fr toses who love gestation watch there are a few foal cam sites. You can watch the mares in their stables online and if you see them show signs of going into labour phone the mobile number on the site and that alerts the yard owner/ stable or stud manager so they can leg it to the barn or stale and be there or call a vet if needed.

Tbh, haing done foal watch enough in real life it's a bit like watching grass grow watching online for other people and horses who you don't know!

I don't have a problem with foal-watch. At least there you have decided to participate, it is not just being forced upon you.

I'm guessing that they only announced so early as they were worried it would get out anyway if they didn't. So good for them for taking the lead and being up front. They should be left to it without every movement in and out of the hospital being monitored, wild speculation etc.

Having said that I am definitely of the 'hope for the best, plan for the worst' mindset - I don't even like telling people I have a new job until I have actually started it :o

They are not supposed to do this, it is completely done at the pharmacist's discretion and is a favour.

At the risk of sounding like I'm nagging...
This isn't the first time in recent months is it? I know you have an incredible amount going on LIR, but I am glad that you have signed up for repeat prescription collection. It won't (shouldn't) get you out of seeing the GP though - they can refuse to provide a prescription if they want to see you first.

    No, it's not:o

It's crazy to give someone with medically recognised memory issues control of here own meds in a practise that needs so long to turn them around, closes for lunch and has no weekend opening though! :D

Soon I will be organised properly again and have no excuse. Dh is going to paint me a blackboard in he utility room and maybe the kitchen too.

If its written it works for me, and I have not used my white board since moving, in fact, I think I might have taken it to the tip. I try and use the diary on the macputer but it has a will of it's own!

Re cinemas. When we go, we like this one, which I've mentioned before:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rex,_Berkhamsted
    http://therexberkhamsted.com/
No loud snacks, no slurpy drinks and generally a very respectful audience, the seats aren't all crammed in either, giving a club class feel.
A sister cinema will open at some point in 2014 (once all the funding is in place and the work done) in St Albans:

James Hannaway - the man behind both - is an amazing visionary who loves the arts. I can remember in the eighties going to his production of Casablanca. The audience had to dress in 40s clothing and we sat in "Ricks Bar". He's always been like that, but the result is enchanting.

Besides...everyone has norovirus and flu and is more pressing than me in the right now.

Everyone with norovirus should be staying well away from the surgery. I think they were discussing it on the BBC this morning. Whilst I was eating my breakfast :vomit:

    Tee hee :D

Just in case anyone is concerned about my eating habits I was actually eating some apple and raisin granola (purchased at full price and well in date). I had zapped it in the microwave so it was nice and warm - it was rather yummy :)

I agree - I appreciate the GPs are super busy and all that, but they can happily hand over a prescription in a consultation. I'm never sure why it takes 48 hours if it is a repeat? I'm sure they don't spend that long checking through records etc, I would have thought its more a case of pressing print and signing.

Some people put other peoples toes in their mouths. But when you think where else most of us have ducked i still find that the idea of sharing the motor part of a toothbrush is untenable somewhat ....misplaced.

I mean, if your partner is grotesque and doesn't rinse the thing and never cleans it fair enough....but otherwise...

I would rather share a toothbrush than suck anyone's toes. Even straight after washing I think.

You don't even want to start thinking how many bacteria are living on your skin/ are floating around in the air.
