Ok, re reading silver car and gdb's comments I think I am wrong and they must have been saying what gdb and silver car are saying.
It's probably evidence of my state of panic when I am in those places! So, I will go in on staurday morning /Friday afternoon and see if it's possible.
Thanks for talking me through it. Sorry I was being obtuse!0 -

My suggestion is to go in to see the pharmacist tomorrow. Then, if they cannot help you, you have time to panic productively - like handing a begging letter in at the GP's.
Mind you, I am coming at this from the point of view that the chemist is a pleasant and healthy 2 to 3 mile walk return. Your mileage probably varies! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
No snow here. I don't want any for at least another 24 hours. I need to get to Bristol and back tomorrow.
I am happy this evening. I have finished writing my reports.
Hope you get sorted with your meds, lir. You may think it's trivial to be without something that maintains your sight and hearing, but nobody else does. It is only Wednesday. There's no reason why the GP can't give you a prescription tomorrow. Ring up the surgery and ask if you can have a telephone appointment. My GP does this for anything where you need to speak to the doctor but don't need to be examined by them. It's quicker and more efficient for both patient and doctor, and should result in them writing out the script tomorrow so you can collect it and take it straight to the pharmacy.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Ha ha, yes indeed. I'm not sure how impressed Mrs Generali would be. Oh well, I find out tomorrow either way.
Skyfall finally got to Aus so I took Mrs Generali to watch that this evening. Very good if you like that sort of thing...which I do. I do wish that people wouldn't talk in the cinema, I noticed it building up after about 90 minutes. I put it down to a short attention span: if you can't keep quiet for 2.5 hours go and watch the Dora the Explorer movie, @r5eh01es.
You can tell you are getting old when...I think....0 -
No snow here either. It's going to be 23C and sunny for the next couple of days before getting warm again at the weekend. It was 17C overnight. Brrrrr. No sign of the duvet being put away yet.
I'm on the bus, about to find out whether or not I got the job. There's a time to be calm and a time for panic. The time for panic is now.0 -
You can tell you are getting old when...
Ha ha, yes. I was talking to our graduate at work yesterday. The conversation ended with me pointing out that Access (the Microsoft database package) wasn't invented when I started Uni!
TBH I think I learned not to talk through movies when I was 7. I have to start going to Gold Class again. You can have a beer or a glass of 'wine' (I'm sure the bottle is marked For External Use Only) and people !!!!!! during the film. Can't they text their bloody mates during the film? !!!!!!.0 -
Agreed....it always amazes me how the media can be so obss.....oh...hold on....hold on...
BREAKING NEWS! PRINCE WILLIAM LEAVES THE HOSPITAL!
I'm not sure I can cope with a day by day account of the Royal Gestation.
I thought this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-stoke-staffordshire-20591605
Was particularly
a) At what point is the BBC advertising?
b) Hopefully all will go well, but is it not too soon to be producing 'memorabilia' like this? Its still very early on.0 -
No, LIR, the chemist can give you drugs without a prescription, just enough to tide you over. Been there, tea shirt, etc....
Give them a call to check, if you don't believe me.
They are not supposed to do this, it is completely done at the pharmacist's discretion and is a favour.
At the risk of sounding like I'm nagging...
This isn't the first time in recent months is it? I know you have an incredible amount going on LIR, but I am glad that you have signed up for repeat prescription collection. It won't (shouldn't) get you out of seeing the GP though - they can refuse to provide a prescription if they want to see you first.

Oh god nikkster, I hope nothing goes wrong (post beore last) A day by day gestation watch will be boring, but the nation in mourning? Frightful ...I can imagine it now...'maybe the would have called here Diana...'
Fwiw, fr toses who love gestation watch there are a few foal cam sites. You can watch the mares in their stables online and if you see them show signs of going into labour phone the mobile number on the site and that alerts the yard owner/ stable or stud manager so they can leg it to the barn or stale and be there or call a vet if needed.
Tbh, haing done foal watch enough in real life it's a bit like watching grass grow watching online for other people and horses who you don't know!0 -
