Going home now. Back on later.
    Cheers :)
I was all dark and lonely ... and even had a little cry earlier :)

although, i think what might be best is if you stay after work and use their internet (check with your boss if you want but it would be a cruel person to deny you that!). you'll be warm, have coffee and not be in car in carpark.

They don't have phones at work, they have mini switchboard types... but I'll ask. It's a tiny place. The thing is, people are happy to see if they have things at home and bring them in tomorrow if they have .... but all I can see is days whizzing by potentially, which is why I bought a SCART as one person said they might have one, or not, and if they do and can find it they'll bring it in tomorrow.... so I bought one... only to discover I now needed batteries.... it's never ending.

Well that's good news. It goes to show that they like you. In non-Aspie world we're a fickle lot and they wouldn't bother if they didn't. Shows you are settling in well and already seen as one of the team.

Also in my power cut box! Shame you are not near enough to send the box over to you!

Do you mind if I ask what's in your box silver? I do have stuff together, but no phone as my wired phone broke. Wondered what else you've got that I can steal the idea for:o. Yours sounds better than mine...

If I am lucky ... this will post.

I've found a "sweet spot" inside.... just. RIGHT by the ferkin' freezing, draughty front door. Laptop atop a small coffee table, with an upturned big box on it.... and I can get a 40% signal. BUT - I've a signal and it's inside. Just bl00dy cold, inconvenient and a nuisance :)

Edit - and I got the telly working (that took some going...) but it's going. However.... I am not in that room :) telly in one room....,me up the hall and round the corner in Cold Comfort Corner.

Well, we are a team of two .... and I did a big favour on Friday (lift). As for the rest... it's a tiny firm and getting tinier. I think 4 people have left since I started..... seems to be arguments, not choices... and now I am waiting for the rest of this page to load before I can post this.... come on... load ... load ... and post.

It's a good job you said coffee... I'd wandered off, put a saucepan of water on to make one .... and it'd slipped my mind. Although, now, I can actually hear it, so it wouldn't have been a disaster.

Was going to stay tonight, somebody said he wouldn't mind - but then he plonked himself down behind me to explain an entire system to somebody (who has taken on sudden new tasks today).... so I crept out ..... it's not a 'modern thinking' workplace, very old-fashioned 'control mechanisms' methodologies.

PN, if you can stop for a breakfast at a Weatherspoons on the way to work one day, they can connect you to the internet free with a service named after bad weather.

    Other breakfasts are available.

The dish will be on the south of the house facing slightly east.

Tesco's is O2 and they have very good deals. Just I can't get their signal. I had to contact O2 when in Germany once and found their landline number via a website called Say No To 0840 oir something like that.

Tbh I'd imagine the MSE site would have people that can put you wise to the right numbers better than I can.

For anyone who has got access to National Geographic channel. There's a special edition of Preppers on next week, looking at people preparing for meltdown. See:
    http://natgeotv.com/uk/preppers-uk-surviving-armageddon/videos/paranoid-or-mad

Reminds me of my favourite thread, though none of them have mentioned window licking (well not in the trailers anyway).

ETA: not next week, starts this Wednesday. Sorry...

Seem to have found the answer to the BTOpenzone and O2 mobile broadband answer. It's the same name as another service - and you can only connect to it if you are in a bar/cafe running it .... it's not the same BTOpenzone that I pick up on my "available networks" box, as they are home users and I can't connect.

    Daft bar ... stewards....

They don't make it easy to find out/discover these things at all

If you want Openzone login details, please let me know!

Pastures - Welcome to your new home.

Teething problems. Then they are mostly sorted and you will have privacy and be back to making cheesy mash.
