It's a bit soggy out there!

Kids fed, fire on, blanket on, lights low, beaujolais in glass, need to think about feeding the grown ups. I have a duck to roast or last night's spaghetti meatballs to stttrrreeetch out :)

I must stop speed reading. I read that as kids on fire, blanket on:eek:.

I'm sure your kids are well away from fire, but for that moment in time it was quite a shock. Sorry!

Some of you might remember, 3 years ago I went to that London place for 24 hours.... we went for the nearest pub lunch (I was at Vauxhall Bridge).... and my friend from NY, USA took a snap of his dinner....

Well, he's just announced that it's appeared on the front page of the flickr photo stream for /EnglishFood/Interesting. Not a great accolade.... and I won't send you to flickr to paw through and see it (especially as these things are a moving target and this time next week it might not be on the front page any more).

So here it is .... some chips my mate had in London when I was sitting at the same table: http://www.flickr.com/photos/64746955@N00/4185794590

I had the same dinner and it was washed down by a bottle of Magners.

If you're ever back in that there London (well in the Vauxhall area) , and want something more special than a pub lunchhave a look for Portuguese restaurants. London has many districts with distinct local ethnic cultures and many in the Vauxhall area are from Madeira.

Come to think of it you might be eating next to a table of spies!

Pets, dog obviously, terrier to be precise.

I nuked the remainder of my pasta last night and opened a tin of meatballs in tomato sauce I'd picked up (special offer of 50p); had that last night and so tonight I nuked the other half of last night's pasta and the second half of the meatballs :) So, probably a 40p meal.

No duck.... had duck once, years ago in a chinese restaurant that was paid for by the company I worked for, for some reason. LOVED it - with hoisin sauce - GORGEOUS. Not had it since though.... didn't like the way the chinese bloke attacked the duck with two sharp knives and devastated it .... I'm a very careful, lean meat only, picker of meat....

I learnt to deal with it by not being taken in by their (extremely cr4p anyway) advances......

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

    Pets are important to us.
I love my elderly cat even though she is mardy. Very fond our now blind stray. Our dog is adorable. The 3 bunnies are cute.

I am definitely a bit of a softie for cats.

I may have mentioned that on holiday I found a very small kitten. I fed him on kitten food for a week then took him to the vet. Kitten had a virus an dring worm (same as Pastures), so we paid for treatment and his jabs including the 2nd lot in advance. The vet found a foster home for kitten and agreed to neuter him for free , We made a donation to the local cat charity. So 195 euros later we felt we had done our best for him and given him a chance of surviving.

His foster home has adopted him and we are in regular email correspondence and I get photos of him. He has been renamed smurff.

I'm a general animal lover, we currently have a cat but I grew up with a dog as the family pet.

We went for a cat initially because of our lifestyle working very long hours, then because we had young children which are not always a good mix and now because I still have no time to have a dog and look after it properly.

I will get a dog in the future though, loveerrr is allergic to cats.
