I'm not so keen on cats for the reasons in the cartoon.
The cartoons are brilliant BTW
Maybe that's another preference we should find out about all the NP: cat, dog, other animal, none?
I'm OK with cats (except that they make my eyes itch) but I definitely prefer dogs. I wouldn't keep a cat even if I wan'st allergic, though. Or any other animal really, apart from a dog. We do have a hamster ATM, but she's DD's. I wouldn't keep one on my own account. I'll get another dog as soon as I think my lifestyle would allow me enough time to look after one, though.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Was always dogs for me growing up. My dad still has a dog which keeps him healthy.
Never had a cat though I've known some !!!!! cats pretty well.0 -
I can't choose. I have cats who are like dogs and dog dog who is quite catty.
Of for ed to choose it might well be cat, but only if they were Siamese. Dog dog is probably my dog of a lifetime, but pink whistley cat is, I think, my cat soul mate.0 -
I may be going off line for a while. Power out today, and winds picking up more, our electricity supply is very likely to go out. If it does know that we are fine, just without electric, which might be quite fun this weekend.

In our house, everything stops without electricity, even the gas central heating. We have no other means of heating, so brrrr. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Timely, we had a power cut last night for 3 hours. Second this month.
We function. Gas hob lit with matches. Duraflame on the fire in the lounge. internet on phones only, which is limiting.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I don't do pets. We did have some fish that thrived on neglect, so much so that when we gave them away they died off one by one - either from being kept in a clean tank or by being fed at regular intervals - both of which would have been a shock to their systems.
As a child we had a beautiful siamese cat, when that passed on we had a boxer dog, but none of us were capable of training a dog (I blame the parents) so he would rule. I remember him sitting sprawled on the settee and us having to sit on the floor!
Eldest doesn't like animals, youngest thinks he was deprived by not having a dog.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
