Lydia... somewhere (I'll see if I can find a link) in the past 30 minutes, there's a thread where somebody thinks their parents have been scammed over panels - and how much they'll get back. Not sure if you can help as you've got real figures for your house and know what you paid. They've just signed up (so new tariff) and paid £10k.

    Here it is: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/57194471#Comment_57194471

It doesn't work like that. You're employed as they have a need - and you have skills. But then you've no time to use your skills and you're not allowed to spend a penny on necessary tools .... and then they heap loads more other work on you, preventing you from cracking on and doing the real job they want doing.

It's a bit like employing a fireman to put out the fire at your house .... then not letting them smash down the front door to get the hoses in because it's a nice one and the way they like it..... then they give you a watering can and point you at the water butt to use to put the fire out ... and then ask if you can mow the grass now you're here and it needs cutting a bit to get to the water butt.

Has the other person left now? At least you won't be having to hide what you're doing any more.

If only! It would be lovely to get up in the morning, walk through a wardrobe and be at work instead of sitting in traffic.

But you'd only be able to get to work if you went into the wardrobe not trying to get there. If you went into the wardrobe trying to get to work, you'd only find the back of the wardrobe. Might prove a bit awkward.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Yes, but now they've changed the focus/attention of the business to something entirely different (as they've had no real orders for a couple of months) .... and really now need about 2 years of work doing this week :)

I really need to be able to walk through my wardrobe at the moment. Big fire near michaels and me and lots of road closures. I think I could walk quicker:(.

Ad there was another big one very near us on Sunday - brought back memories of Bunceford with the column of black smoke in the clear autumnal air - burning plastic crates too so I guess the smoke was pretty toxic.

    Coincidence?
    I think....

The weird thing is I've been periodically driving past that place for years. Its only now that its caught on fire I realise its a dump. Most of those occasions I've thought the strange smell was something wrong with my catalytic converter.

The smoke has only got to come over a little bit further and it will shut the M1 too. Now that really would cause gridlock.

Have they caught the people who burned down Batchwood yet?

Though it would be an achievement on a whole other level if we could also blame them for Buncefield.

When Buncefield exploded, I was living in my old house which was about a mile away. I was convinced a jumbo jet had just crashed in front of the house. All of the coathangers in my wardrobe started making a strange jiggling noise and then I was in an earthquake but with a sucking noise then a woosh then a bang. At least I think that was the order, this was all happening the same as I was waking up and shouting !!!!!!?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Well, first time for a week and a half I have been able to be without a puppy attached to me for a bit. I came upstairs to do some sorting in the bedroom (I might even try starting to fold the Laundry heap in the spare room tomorrow) but pink whistley cat was so excited to see me with out the kiwi fruit with teeth that she demanded an hour of attention just for her. She purred and groomed me and tutted over my hair being in plaits and tried to tease it out, and groomed me some more, then when I really had to get on, she followed me, helping me out things in drawers and chatting to me Bon stop. Puppy will be coming up shortly for the night and I daresay she will feel furious with me again.

Curly dog has learned, today, how to climb stairs. Of course, this means it is THE most exciting thing any one could ever do, and has to be done over, and over, and over again. With me plodding up behind and catching him to late to suggest this is not a great idea. New baby gate soon I think. Not sure how it will work with that bannister thing....what's the word for the uprights bit on a stair below the banister? I cannot think....nEwal?
