I noticed the forst forming last night, not too late either, sometime after nine and before ten I think. Bust have been a cold night!
I live cheap discount driving spray. Pop out spray a line along top of windows, then about half way down when you wake up, then go and get ready to go out, then it's drizzled down the entire window within about ten-twenty mins.0 -

However its that taking of stances that get you the nomination which is damaging. In McCain's case he had to take the raising Palin as a running mate (which was an absolute gift to the democrats as she was so easy to caracature) and Romney's you have his legendary flip-flopping. I just can't see how someone can switch from mild mannered governor of Massachusetts to having such "out there" opinions. Makes you wonder what would be being said if Rick Santorum had won the nomination instead and whether he would have had to go the other way.
Romney learned from that McCain's error and has selected someone who is pretty much right down the centre of the GOP in Ryan. That should have helped him keep the wingnuts on side while not scaring the voters too much.
Perhaps it's just my depressive side but I honestly can't see that this factionalism in US politics ending well. Politics in a democracy ultimately has to be about playing nicely together but at present neither side is interested in doing that, they want power at all costs as they each see themselves on a moral crusade.0 -

Well,it's not mse because it's paying for somethiong you can do for free.....but I always keep some in the car for rushed mornings. IMO the cheaper stuff is as good.
Alternatively of course you can cut down on scraping by putting something over the windshield and rear view windows. But I always find that worse than scraping tbh.....too lots of messing aboput in the cold instead of one.0 -

Westie dog is always very excited to go to the vet, which is strange as it's the place where he got several jabs, his microchip zapped in and his balls chopped. Probably the treat he gets after each visit makes up for the pain suffered.0 -
We can only vote for local and european elections (and this police commissioner thingy).
Not the national ones; somehow that slogan 'no taxation without representation' doesn't apply0 -

In other news - fireworks display was, as ever awesome!
Spiritualized on sunday was a bit of a revelation. First saw them in 1997. They were amazing then. Seen them a couple of times since & they've not hit the same highes, until sunday. Really great gig, aside from the low turnout.
Yesterday I bought tickets for Derren Browns new tour next year. Did anyone watch his apocalypse? Thought it was great.
