So I have a small puppy crying in my arms. Today's horror was having bath to clean his bum ( house moving tummy) and his, um, under carriage....what can I say.....it drags on the ground outside cos he is so weeny and it was muddy.

I know it's not me, because his breeder bathed him twice, including when we ollected him, he just hates it. Woodburner is on so he is toasty and I will pop up later and plug an electric heater in upstairs again.

Only good thing is that pink whistley cat, who has been horrified him, is now showing some compassion and is sittting here with us.

For one awful minute I read that as toasted not toasty!

My childhood dog just hated baths. To the end of her life she would stand shaking while washed, the very picture of misery. But she did like being rubbed with a towel afterwards.

She was a Jack Russell, so always getting muddy from the general problem of a low slung undercarriage.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I know so little of politics, I don't even know what left and right are .... and I didn't know Americans were voting today until the radio said so on my drive to work.

In new news..... boss made me God of all that occurs, with immediate effect. I even chucked some bizarre ideas into the spoken mix, to see if he'd flinch.... not a sausage. Do what I like ......

Hi all, and thanks for your concern. I'm fine, but I've been tied up with work, and then I was away for a bit without an internet connection.

It's so hard to keep up with what's going on. Chewie's got a new job. Is that still with FSA? LIR has new, rather smart, french windows. I've probably missed lots of other things. At least with the Archers you can catch up once a week.

Yes, but now I have transferred into HR and am responsible for implementing the diversity policy...

 crikey! I like the way Clarks is lowering its shutter in the video in case after stealing all those £3000 watches they are going to start on the £35 ankle boots.

what would you do when set with a stupidly impossible task at work when you're triple busy?

i'm tempted to kill myself and do it (because I hate looking stupid and I hate being unprepared) but I'm tempted not to do it to make someone else look bad.

    it's now 75% kill myself :(

I would say ' this needs to be done and x has not done it so I will do it, however, i want it made clear my workload is already too heavy ( I am working x hour weeks) and I feel this is unacceptable. Please recognise this by increasing my annual holiday allowance so I can sleep sometime.

i would take one of the following three approaches:

    (i) work longer hours

(ii) delegate it / the other work

    (iii) don't do it

i would probably pick (i), but i get a real bonus. if i didn't get a bonus i would probably choose (iii).
