Did you ever register to vote anywhere? You need to complete an electoral registration form.
So for someone in dorset county council

This is something I knew the answer to for a few weeks when I helped with canvassing (getting people registered).
You get sent a (purple?) form for someone in each household to sign to confirm that there is no change/ add people/ cross them off if they have moved away etc. Think they usually come round in August, with chasers Oct/ Nov (not sure whether they would this year with these extra elections). You can also contact the local council and ask to be put on at any time of year (if you're wanting to be on for credit purposes), but they only publish the list once or twice a year.
Not sure about if you don't return the form - whether they leave it as is or take you off (think it might be this). But it is a criminal offence not to return the form. Not sure they take people to court for it all that often, but think that the councils have targets for % of people they get on the list each year.
I am also a fully trained shoe fitter with experience of census collection in case anyone needs [STRIKE]help [/STRIKE] confusing on those :rotfl:0 -
Curly dog reminds me of a kiwi fruit with teeth ATM. I try taking photos , but they are mainly just a brown blur of scruffy fuzz. ATM big dog has sulked next door onto the sofa, dog dog is lieing on the floor gazing lovingly at 'her' puppy and the kiwi fruit with teeth is hurtling around the sitting room like a very fast rat. He has mad hour until bedtime....it's...fast. Might be why dog dog likes him so much.0

Just found out by the dreaded Facebook that one of my uncles has died. In one way it was a hell of a shock but in another, it saved dad the difficult job of breaking it to us kids.
Sue I am sorry to read of this.
In the last hour I have just had that conflict of Facebook moments. First I enjoyed seeing halloween photos of a young great neice & nephew, then amused by the 'movember' moustache the little boy sports in another piccie...all good so far
Then I read of my elderly godfather having fallen today suffering several fractures and as he has alzeimers how confused and scared he is. There followed a string of comments from his adult grandchildren rpomising visits. On the one hand I was a bit appalled that his plight was published, and then grateful that I have this news so quickly and can act on it.
Not sure where I stand on dignity, privacy, social media and the rights of the elderly to be or not to be facebook news.0 -
