Are you working late starting at normal time or just on a later shift?? Either way, RUBBISH

Not much to report today, soup was rubbish (OH likes it, he can have the lot!) After payday I'll try some new recipes - potato and parsnip / leek and potato?? Having a day off soup tomorrow, cous cous and stuff I think will be good :)
NSD also today, and I've FINALLY reached £10 on Valued Opinions, only problem is now I dont know what voucher to get!!!!

That's awesome, I should hopefully get £300 of Capital Bonds vouchers next week, essentially high street vouchers so most of my Christmas shopping is coming from them!! Vouchers be goood!
Had a write off night last night, watched a bit of telly and napped most of the evening away, was tucked up in bed by 10 to 10 and I don't remember my head hitting the pillow! Bit miffed this morning cos I got up to a disaster zone in the kitchen, as mentioned before OH is the resident chef, and he makes me the most delicious dinners, but it comes at a price!!! I dont think he understands how much it stresses me out, especially when I spend my weekend cleaning like crazy and have spent the rest of the week trying (& succeeding!) to keep on top of it, but why he can just put things in the bin and back where they belong as he's cooking I've no idea. He even had the cheek to complain that the pan he wanted wasn't clean yesterday, even though he'd forgotten about the food in it and burnt it, so I'd had to spend days with it soaking to get the burn off!! MAN. I will be the first to admit I'm not the tidiest person, and I have no real problem cleaning, but there's a limit... So before work this morning was spent trying to get a semblence of order!! RANT OVER. All's OK now anyway, I'm over it :p

Should be NSD today, and tomorrow, and hopefully the weekend (for me, not the joint, as we'll need some food for sat/sun/mon, before payday. One of those days can be filled with spag bol from the freezer, so 2 meals for £15) EASY PEASY! I also usually see my mum on a Saturday morning but she's just rung me to say they're going to the seaside instead, so I can stay in my jammies and not buy anything alllllll day. And then it's payday on Tues and I can start making a dent in this overdraft YES PLEASE!!!

Hope everyone else is good :)

Bit of a mish mash day today - been off work with a headache, once I felt better I got loads done:

Sorted out my Christmas presents / planned Christmas presents - I'm trying as much as possible (other than those I've bought already) to buy them out of my capital bond vouchers. This isn't too bad because they cover quite a lot of shops, most high street and then department stores too. I have TONNES to buy, but by using the vouchers I should be able to get some really nice presents without sacrificing the actual present (I'm terrible for loving giving presents, I get carried away too :o)

Updated my spreadsheet, I even have a graph now (although atm it's not very exciting and is heading up instead of down, but this will change very soon) that I'm going to plot my total debts on and watch them go DOWN!

Done some Maximiles surveys / videos (slow points gain but if I'm not doing much else it's easy to set the vids running)

Claimed a £10 voucher from Valued Opinions.

Rang CC to sort out the fact that my minimum payment is £125 when I've changed it to just actual min payment. They weren't very helpful (patronising if anything) and told me it wouldn't have changed in time for the imminent payment (even though I swapped it over 2 weeks ago) There was nothing when I changed it to tell me when it would come into effect. OH is lending me the £125 until Tues (it comes out MONDAY growl). He's a gem.:A

Need to go to bank tomorrow. I've got a bank account that I've had since I was 12ish, unused. I want to use it to do some piggybanking, but obvs even though they send me a card every so often I know none of the details to start reusing it. Tried to do it over the phone but hit a brick wall before I even talked to a real person - I'll see what they can do in branch

Also got some ebay to post tomorrow! :T

    Sorry for wittering, I'm noticing I'm a bit of a rambler :o

Forgot to add that we're also buying a slow cooker out of the vouchers (rock and rolllll) We've got one already (that belonged to my parents, they split up in 1990ish!!) but it's only 2 litres ish, so we're gonna go crazy and get a big a$$ one cos a lot of our food is batch cooked for ages, which must cos a pretty penny on our electric hob!

  • Hi scuff,

Read your diary and just wanted to say your doing really well and
good luck with your debt busting.

I love my slow cooker and its great being able to bung everything in it in a morning and then come home to a yummy meal.

Hi pwps! :D re. the slow cooker, OH works from home so he's in most of the time, but I was wondering about the 'turning it on and leaving it on all day' malark - I wanted to be able to do this but was slightly worried we couldn't leave it unattended.. Glad you've confirmed this should be okay! Slightly excited haha :o !

  • Hi Scuff, sounds like youve had a busy few days! I need to start planning for Christmas. I used to spend a fortune on presents because I'm not very good at buying that 'perfect' gift (some people are great at it arent they?). I tend to buy several smaller gifts for each person- that really adds up, I buy for my parents, sister, DHs parents, his brother, sister and their OH and four neices. Plus of course my DS. DH and I arent going to buy for each other this year.

How much do you budget for each person?

Any inspiration will be gratefully received!!

Its hard to think about spending on presents when the debt looms above us isnt it.
