Hello Lea! Toilet roll and subway - life's essentials!! :rotfl: do you get paid extra for working like a crazy horse or is it just expected? (your work intrigues me haha) I shall have a look in The Works at the weekend and see what there is
thankings. I've also got plans to make up homemade(ish) foody hampers for the 'adult' couples on my list that I struggle with - Christmas Pudding fudge, Christmas cookies, maybe some jammy kind of stuff?? They're my ideas so far on top of the hot choc things! (I say 'adult' because I keep forgetting I'm actually an adult too...)
Today has been a vaguely productive day MSE wise.
I have:
-Paid (not through choice as I mentioned before!) £125 off my CC
-Checked my bank accounts, realised that the £125 had sent my current account £6.72 over my overdraft, and so transferred £6.73 from my other account (the one I'm trying to pay off, I'll pay it back tomorrow!) This means I wont get charged as they give you til 4pm to sort it out!
-Set up a text alert on my current account so it tells me when I have £20 left to spend, so I can be more careful and not go over (I'm going to check my accounts every morning anyway, so this shouldn't happen, but just as a safety net!)
-Updated my spreadsheet and 'Debtbuster Scuff' graph
-NSD!
Tomorrow, it's PAYDAYYYYYYY :j :j:j :T:T:T:T:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::beer::D:D:D:D:D:D:DI'm excited!
Tomorrow's plans are:
- Give OH his £125 back
- Transfer £6.73 back to OD1
- Transfer most (except fees) of my Paypal balance to OD1
I'm sure there's more! We also need to go food shopping so later this evening we're going to sit down and meal plan, then work it out on mysupermarket. Asda are doing their £5 when you spend £40 so want to spend over that!!
Right, be back laters!!September 2016 GC £21.37/£1200 -
The Mr Men books are a great token gift- gonna have a little look tomorrow.
Your plans sound great Scuff- sounds like you're really on top of things. I think I'll try to find out if my bank does text alerts- could save some money (and tears!!).

Well the account I did it on is Santander, my old account was HSBC and I never found an option to do it. That's as far as my knowledge on the matter goes. When I told OH he said most banks do it? I didn't know this, but in Sant it was under the heading 'Alerts' (or something similar??) if that helps? I only seem super organised cos it's my first payday since I started my diary and I'm just too excited to have some money to be organised with!xSeptember 2016 GC £21.37/£1200

Well done scuff
. I can't wait for payday but also don't think it's going to make much difference as I am on mat leave and I don't yet know if its a 5 week or 4 week pay.

Aw hugandroll it will make some difference though
how do you find out or is it just a case of wait and see? With no little ones I don't really understand how maternity works!!
How many days are there til payday for you homemadehappiness??
Feeling a little meh about money right now. I'm kind of proud that I managed a month without any real spends but it's so depressing. I had chocolate for the first time since I stopped spending (~ a month ago, before I started this diary) and seriously I was craving it so badly I was getting angry about getting out of the shop fast enough so I could eat it!! & then I'm selling things for 99p which is ridiculous, I'm on a decent wage, I shouldn't be counting pennies off the floor! Chocolate isn't that much of a luxury!!
Really glad I'm on here, I'd be giving up if I was just doing it like I have(n't) before! xSeptember 2016 GC £21.37/£1200 -
My payday is Friday - I actually get paid weekly but I find I am just wishing my weeks away... My hubby recently registered for JSA so waiting for that to kick in. Its been one step forward two steps back for us I was unemployed and he was working then I got a job and he was made redundant
If we were both working it would be so much easier! xxx

Well I wish my weeks away and I have no payday at the end of them, only weekends (man I love weekends!!) I did find when I got paid weekly that I spent my money faster though? That's rubbish about your OH & redundancy, I hope he finds somethign soon
the JSA people were rubbish for me, I was signing on for 2 years, had to have special meetings cos at the time I was in the 18-24 bracket, and in all that time they didn't really help. It took the p when I got a letter in the Feb telling me my payments were going up, if I stayed on til April they'd go up more, and then once I got to 25 (the December!) it'd increase more because of my age. I was like it isn't an incentive scheme, help me find a job. I found one in the end though, as I'm very sure your OH will
xx
