Also batch of ebay stuff finishing today (is batch the right word? I'm making it the right word..) in total it's at £7.47 with 6 hours to go, some items haven't got bids on yet but do have watchers so fingers crossed this should increase dramatically come finishing time :)

'Dramatically' may be a bit of an overhopeful overstatement... :rotfl:

All ebay for today has finished, pretty rubbish tbh but better than nothing (£14.58 - fees over 4 items, one item didn't sell :( ) More ending tomorrow but not feeling too hopeful in all honesty. I've now got £45.30 sitting in Paypal which I'll transfer Tuesday when I sort all my figures out. Sad thing is even though that's going into OD1 to pay off, it'll be eaten up in charges, so kind of feel like its all for nothing!! Damn charges! Packed up all that's paid for (seriously why can't people just pay when they win, it annoys me, especially when they've blatantly only just bid! Gimme my money!)
Flat tidied, hamster cleaned out and exercised, recycling by the door to trip me up so I remember to take it down in the morning - excellent fire hazard if anyone wants to set us alight? (please don't!!)
Need to sit down with OH tomorrow and make a plan for the new payday - meals, what to do with sky etc, putting more of joint leftover cash into deposit savings, also need to sort my own plan out for the month, what needs to come out of next paycheck etc. Early start tomorrow too. I'm yawning at the thought!!

  • My ebay is coming to an end too, some bits have sold but a few things haven't - damn it! so need to relist! Got more things to add too - although I was wanting to do it tonight while its free listing its just not happening! oh well :(

My OD is a nightmare - charges are ridiculous! i've got a seperate account that every day i transfer my oddpence into and hopefully i will get a chunk to pay off and reduce my overdraft, i got the idea from another user and although it sounds silly ive got £5.12 in just a few days! xxx

I think it sounds like an awesome idea! I want to try it (& the money box style things too) but atm I've gone cold turkey on shopping, so out of my personal account all that comes out now is pretty much round numbers. I doubt I'd make much money. Maybe when I start getting a few bits and bobs I'll be able to start. Same goes for spare change. I miraculously haven't taken any cash out since September 23rd! So I don't make any change :( £5.12 is pretty good and I bet you don't notice the bits disappearing when you do it that way.

Dunno if I can be bothered relisting, don't know whether it's a waste of time haha,. Bit miffed too cos someone managed to buy a pair of Diesel unworn jeans for £2.20 + p&p:eek: Are they expensive items you need to list, I usually just start everything off at 99p unless I want really good money for it. Most of what I'm selling is my unwanted clothes, but it seems to get them off to a good start cos people think they're getting a bargain and then get attached! :D

  • Alot of mine were books from my uni course and they didnt sell so im thinking of looking at amazon instead? i tend to start everything at 99p too, i have a pushchair for sale at the moment, ive sold it three times now and the buyers have dropped out! its upsetting as its the only 'expensive' thing i really have! xxx

Thanks HI, I never thought of that!! I used to make up photo collages on Picasa before clothes were free to list, but they're too big to upload now :( AND I've already done a listing tonight for my only '1 photo only' item, I should have waited for your good old advice!!

Hi CandyCupcake :hello:happy to have you here, if you can cope with my witterings (I've noticed I get carried away and write a story every post!!) I tried doing the 'pretend it's interest' thing but then obvs as my amount decreases, so does the interest, but in actual fact when I get it to say -£20, I'll be paying 50% interest! So don't know how this works? Am I being really stupid??!

Right, let's see where I am with my list
    - EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This must must must must MUST be done!! In progress 5/19 items listed
    - [STRIKE]Clean out the hamster[/STRIKE] (also need to figure out a way of buying his stuff cheaper, we have to buy a bag of bedding every week!)
    - [STRIKE]Washing (trying to be more organised with this cos I end up over loaded with no clothes, got new wardrobes which have improved things but still stresses me out as daft as it seems!)[/STRIKE] Woop empty wash-basket!!
    - Ironing (as above) :naughty:I'll add this onto tomorrow's list
    - Try to get to £10 on Valued Opinions (at £8 now) Not had any surveys come through AT ALL :(
    - [STRIKE]Sort out box of already bought Christmas presents, figure out what I need (although I wont be buying soon it always helps to know!)[/STRIKE]
    - Go through joint and see what we can save here / what we can put into savings that's left over (currently we manage to totally spend - sometimes more than- £1400 pm, rent is £550 but this really needs bringing down, need to figure out how we do this cos we're pretty good at batch cooking / meal planning etc [although this is a recent in past few months thing]) Not done yet, will do before next big shop (also need to figure out what 'although this is a recent in past few months thing' means?!)
    - Take cancel gym letters to gym (I've had them written for 2 weeks!!!!) TOMORROW

Going to list a couple more things on ebay before it gets too late, and then watch TV and off to bed nice and early (NO SLEEPING IN!!!!)
regarding the hamsters bedding wilkinsons do it cheaper but also i used to bulk my hamsters and gerbils beddings with a very small amount of newspapers, any bits of kitchen towels, napkins i could steal from cafes etc, although i had to stop the newspapers with the gerbil, with him being white the ink would rub off on him!!! lol

I think they'd do better on amazon tbh HMH, if I thought about getting uni books I'd go to Amazon rather than ebay. I'm a bit sentimental about mine though, dunno if I could sell them (wasteful girl I am!)

Hi Dory! I was hoping I might be able to buy it in bulk from amazon / ebay, tbh I haven't got round to looking into it! I like the thought of someone sneakily stealing cafe napkins, smuggling them back into the cages haha, made me laugh. It's crazy the tinyness of the bags of bedding though, plus my skanky boy (hamster not OH!!) likes to use his beds as toilets :o so I have to change them twice a week or he gets dirty and the place starts to smell. N'aww newspapery gerbil, I've never seen a white one! (gerbils would be a no no in my house anyway, OH doesn't like tails :p)

    Hi Scuff

Firstly LOVE the Christmas talk on here. I love Christmas and am SO excited it's only 2 months away. And plenty of time to plan and shop still.

Going to join you on your search for for token gifts and might be able to add one to your list!

The other week I was in The Works book shop and they had all the Mr Men books for 99p and then 6 for 5. I got a few to give as in-jokes to my friends i.e. Mr Grumpy, or Mr Happy. They have loads and sure you could find one to suit someone who you wanted to give a little giggle too.

They also had Mr Birthday ones which might be nice little wrap up gifts for birthdays coming up.

Going to work for a couple of hours this afternoon and then bit of shopping - I left my 'office' last week twice between Sunday and Saturday morning. Once to get toilet roll and once to get a subway. I NEED TO SEE SHOPS!!!

    Catch you later x
