Hi scuff, hope you're safe and warm, the snow with me is dreadful and our estate is completely cut off - its been lovely - we couldnt get out for work so have done a bit of work from home and had a lovely afternoon snuggled under a blanket watching location, location, location - I'm a fan too.
Hope you have a lovely weekend.

There's not that much snow herethe pavements are white and it keeps trying to flutter, but nothing that'll settle - I was dreaming of snow day this morning after the evening's mad blizzard just so I could go back to bed but it stayed just a dream haha, was all melted again by 10pm. Hope you're well stocked up & keep warm - I'm sat here in my dressing gown over my clothes, bit too toasty now mind

Hi Scuff!
Just caught up with you, I know exactly what you mean about not being able to sleep due to the thoughts whirring. I do that and then actually get really stroppy with myself for not being able to sleep and it makes it worse! There's two things I try to do which sometimes help; lying completely still and then doing a mental inventory of my body from toe to scalp. I say in my head 'are my toes relaxed' then give them a wiggle and think 'yes' and then do it for all the rest of me. I then like to imagine I feel warmth spreading up from my toes to my head. I know this sounds incredibly stupid but it does actually work. Someone at work told me about it.
I'm a serial renter too, it's soo annoying paying someone else's mortgage and not being able to get too attached to a place. But hey, it sounds lke it's motivating you to save, so that's a really good thing.
I was going to do the cycle to work scheme myself but I can't because my tenancy agreement won't let me have a bike and my housemate is funny about it.If you definitely have somewhere to store a bike I think it's an amazing deal. Very MSE!

Thanks Fudge, I'll try that next timeI seem to go from one extreme to the other - I didn't wake up until 5pm today
Not sure whether I'm going to go ahead with the cycle to work this year, I love cycling but I'm worried when the alarm goes off will I really want to set off on an hour & half cycle, do a days work and then get on my bike home... half of me would love to be able to but the other half thinks maybe my money would be best spent elsewhere. I've got til the 18th Feb to decide anyway!Homemadehappiness wrote: »Sorry just catching up... when I left uni I claimed JSA and my husband was working so I am sure your OH will be able too - I did a Social Work degree

I'm surprised about the JSA, I'm sure my friend was told that she couldn't claim any as her boyfriend was bringing money in and this meant she had enough to live on? Fingers crossed we won't come to that anywaywe pay into the deposit fund every month, just £200 atm but I want to up this as I'd like a house preferably before we're 30! It comes out of the joint money though (dunno if I said this already?) so is separate from the debt repayment - all the debts I'm trying to pay off are mine and so it's just me paying them off. Once they're paid I'm onto starting my £12k a year pot

Hi scuff, hope OH gets some good news about a job or JSA - its such a pressure at the moment. No wonder you can't sleep.0

Not much to report in the world of MSE - I'm anxiously awaiting payday (23rd so only 2 sleeps haha) been trying to budget in what I would like to / could do to get with my £100 allowance this month. Need to make sure I don't get carried away and go over! Will bob back with a list in a little bit - I'm in the middle of dying my hair and just realised I need to go back to finish it off haha! GL we must have cross posted! We've got another year until he finishes uni so fingers crossed should sort something out, but I'll be honest we'll be worrying until something is sorted - bless him.
Gonna have to go back and have another bash at dying the old wig - I can't tell the difference! Anyway before I do that, list!
Things I need to buy next month:
Vodka (for my stepdad's homemade birthday present - chilli vodka!) ~£10
Bottle for said vodka ~ £2 Ikea?
Foundation - £23
There was more - I'm having a brain fart I'll have to come back to this later!
Put £2 in the terramundi (now £14) 50p in the 50p pot (£2 I think) and 40p in the 20p pot (£10.40)
I'll come back and edit the post when my brain comes back!September 2016 GC £21.37/£1200
