Great thread - been picking up lots more good ideas since I last posted :T
I've got quite a lot of my presents now - just need to get all the stuff out and double check who's getting what, and what's missing. Going to reduce the stress so much this year, not having the usual last minute run round the shops.
Also discovered I've now got £38 on my Boots card - was going to use it towards Xmas shopping, but maybe I'll treat ME instead :D

QUEEN BESS - This is Jared Leto - i think they look a like - what do you think?? Jared Leto is in my avator now

At first glance, I thought it was Richard Fleishman (soapstar superstar and Corrie)! Sorry! But there is a bit of a similarity, although Richard Armitage must be at least 10 years older!

Anyway, back to Christmas! Anyone planning a baby/toddler hamper, or who likes buying clothes for children: Boots have an extra 20% off sale prices! I got a t-shirt and short set, which originally was £9, then reduced to £4.50, plus now another 20% off made it £3.60! My friend is due to give birth in a couple of weeks, so if I go neutral, I should be able to by birth and Christmas presents for it!

Hi, brought some bits for Mum and MIL today, always buy them some Scauntary stuff from Boots (used it as the posh stuff in their hampers last year). Spend over £12 and you got a free weekend bag worth £10 so thats both of them sorted and used my points as been saving on there - buy all DS nappies from there (triple points) and always use those machine so got about £80 saved for Christmas.

TINSEL - Thanks for the website, just ordered the black life is good. Decided to make SIL and her boyfriend a 'nice/posh' food hamper as they have just moved into their first home and are struggling so no nice treats. They are both eco-friendly too so will love this bag and I know they'll use it. Showed DH and he said he seen them on BBC news. Cheers!
Lightbulb moment 15th Feb 2007:doh: Now Debt Free and plan on it staying that way!

    Baby on board!:D
  • well i went shooping today and had a great xmas/birthday hunt. We went to a local discount store (rajani's in bristol) which is great fun, huge but has some great things at low prices and some not too good stuff... anyways i brought lots of xmas items including... 2 baskets/boxes, a bathroom caddy, a cat bowl, a baking tray, 7 embelishments/rub on transfers/crafts stuffs/tissue paper (all in the region of £3 each on ebay), flannel, gloves, shower gel and a retro date turner thing for me for..... £14.07 :j a huge bargain i think, especially as the bathroom caddy (i am filling for my brother to produce a hamper) i was looking at is £5 plus everywhere else :D
  • No seriously bibbitybob, all those niggly little things are what makes all the hampers on here so special. Everyone has crazy little things they love and in December there's no way anyone has time to wait in queues in lots of different shops for all the bits and pieces! So a bit of planning and buying ahead (added stress of having to keep favourite things hidden of course) and then when you give your gift you can really see how fitting it was for the person.

Also, a big hello to my Pam. Glad to see you on here too, Rosie pops into Christmas every so often too.

I got food in my belly and a license for my telly
And nothing's going to bring me down

  • Just having a nosey around ebid and I saw this ice skate keyring and wondered if it might make a nice little extra gift to go in a winter warmer hamper????

...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.
