Hi all,
Am putting together a 'cooking-themed' pressie for my friend, so far has lots of bits but missing some easy recipes for her to cook for her boyfriend. She really wants to learn but my brain is much right now - any suggestions for romantic food that is easy to make and she can impress him with? The ones I like tend to be summery and more complicated - ie: my friend mostly cooks ready made strir fries and frozen dinners to give you an idea, but she really has started to want to learn more.
PS: Woolies are doing a Thorntons chocolate box for £2.99 at the mo which would be a lovely stocking filler for anyone interestedMFW #185

I'm doing something similar for my ExOH - kind of a joke present as we only recently split and he can cook pasta and little else!! Anyway, I found a book in The Works for a couple of pounds, called something like 365 easy recipes and there's one in there for every day of the year and so it takes into account what is in season.
Otherwise if you want to make something up yourself, pop over to Old Style Board and look at the Recipe Board (it's in the Indexed Collections) for millions of recipes for all abilities.

I just completed 80% of my christmas shopping online. I have a few bits here and there still to get but the majority is all ordered. I think online shopping is a godsend, as I work such long hours during the week I don't really have the time to go into town and actually spend time traipsing round shops. Wrapping pressies isn't really so bad once I have a spare minute next weekend. Once its all done I can sit back with a well earned cup of tea and a mince pie.0

Thanks for the idea, we have one of those shops locally so will pop in and have a look, only thing is I don't want her to be offended, like she can't cook at all of something...
Chloepad, like you I was going to shop online for some of her items but then went into town and found better items for less... made a difference actually seeing them in person. Other stuff has come from internet sites for pressies but more like books/cd's etcMFW #185

Can you direct me to The Works please. Has it got a website or is it a shop? I need to expand my recipe range, and being a bear of little brain, simple is all I could ask for.
The works is a shopCheck here - http://www.theworks.co.uk/store_locator.php for your nearest one

Thought it might be an idea to Bump this one now, so folk have a wee bit longer to budget, given the way prices are soaring for everything just latelyFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

It's a terrifying thought, but The Day itself is just 17 WEEKS away:eek:
Imagine--monthly paids have three clear wage packets & fortnightlies 8 or maybe 9 if your lucky _pale_
With everything else needed to thought of, I'd soonest get what I can nowFull time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.
