My Iphone 4 is just out of contract.
I had assumed it would be an easy choice to go for the iphone5, but I am now seriously looking at the brand new (in stock October 1st) Samsung Galaxy note2. This is the very large phone which attracts me because of the large screen.
Has anyone any advise. Anyone got the new Samsung.
Thanks
Upgrading from the 4 to the 5 isn't an upgrade, it's a waste of money for just an extra row of icons on a slightly longer phone. I sold mine and moved to android on the Sony xperia T and I'm so glad I did. I'm never going back to the overpriced and overhyped iphone.
I'd definitely go for the note 20 -
Writing this on the new note... and have to say, it's fantastic! just as user-friendly and slick as my iPhone 4, plus crammed with extra features. S-pen is really useful, in fact I'm writing this message in handwriting. Anyone in doubt, go for the note 2, you won't regret it! Happy to answer any questions anyone has:)0

I have pre ordered my note 2, due at the end of the month.
Those who already have it, have you bought a case or cover. I have seen on Amazon a case that also acts as a small wallet.

interesting...no, I've got nothing yet. To be honest, the thing's so big, it only just fits in my pocket as it is

I used to carry,
a wallet
a music (podcast) player
a phone
a laptop
I now carry
a wallet
a phone that incorporates a music player and a small computor
I am hoping that a cover on the note will allow me to incorporate my wallet. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
I am considering getting a Note 2. Did you buy it outright or get it on a contract?
Thanks.0 -
Writing this on my new note2. Yes that was the final decision. I have had the phone 4 day now.
Android was very different and strange to begin with but 4 days later I am now very confortable with it. I think/feel that Android has a lot more to offer but that IOS is better for first time computor users. I perhaps I mean that Android is for grown ups.
The phone, each day it has become smaller, if you understand.
At this stage I have no regrets.
In Luxemborg the Black 16GB note2 cost €259 with a 2 year contract at €30 a month with data cap of 2GB per month.
Finally I would never dream of writing this on my iphone. There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.0 -
I've now gone down the route of a phone and tablet. My phone of choice is a Galaxy Ace and use a Note 10.1 to take care of media needs. My Ace has a Three sim so I can tether if there is no wifi connection. If I was to have just a phone it would be the Note 2.Both the S III, Note 2 will be future proof in terms of software.
Sadly the iPhone 5 is way off the mark.0
