  • My son shopped in our local Tesco, Christmas Eve, and was going to buy me a the Tesco Value cd player. It only costs £22 but has good reviews, and I'd previously seen it, was going to buy myself one, but then forgotten about it.

It was going through the till at 1p, the assistant said it was the wrong price, called somebody over, which took at least 5 mins, who said son couldn't buy it as it is discontinued.

Son said he's never been so embarrassed in all his life, with a queue of people waiting behind him, and them not letting him buy it. (he didn't want it for 1p, he wanted it for £22.)

He's just ordered it online for £22.

I've told him to send an email to customer services and play heck about his embarrassment.

Cranberry and Orange Cupcake Kit reduced from £5 to £1.25

Also, for people close to Swansea Marina there are loads of Halloween themed bags of mini Chupa-Chups lollies for 1p.
  • I've read on another thread that people are scanning the above cd player instore, and it's the full price, £22.

Son ordered one online for £22, and collected it today.

He says that the one that scanned at 1p had a slightly different box. He seems to recall that it had the cardboard cut out carry handles. (and the one he collected today doesn't.)

It's probably a slightly older version, but it has the same barcode

Same happened to me in the past when they had loads of really cheap electrical items.
  • Noticed Disney Lion King annual style books with an SEL of £1.46 in the entrance at my local Tesco. The others were £5 each. I know it's not a 1p find but I thought they were ideal for birthday presents etc. RRP £9.99
  • My first grabbit so hope this is in the right place and I haven't duplicated. Went to an Asda Living store and picked up the last box of Karvol vapour rub, it was either £2 or £2.99 I cant remember. Anyway, it went through at 2p. HTH
