I've been reading about the EVOO method of face cleansing and decided to give it a go. Do you know, I scoured the town for Castor Oil and couldn't get it anywhere - none of the chemists had it, some seemed not to have heard of it but I finally tracked some down in Hol and Barratt. £9+!!!

What % of EVOO and Castor oil do you use, and do you need to add anything else? My skin is so sensitive and nearly every cleanser irritates it, so I may give that a go.

Proud Mummy Moment on a tough day - my youngest son who had a year out of school before his GCSEs has won a school prize for ICT. Im so proud of him - this was in the class where I had to intervene as he had finished all his course work for his qualification and was spending the time teaching and helping the others in his class. Now this was very noble but he revision of his own do but reflects his lovely nature x

That is lovely news, you must be very proud :)

    Evening All

JO - please to hear the news on Davy, hope you enjoyed your lunch treat.

    NIMC - take care.

Molly - Congrats to DS, think a few teenagers can show their ITC teachers the way home.

Been shopping (again), but this time it was exchanging some bras which I had got the wrong size on a Debenhams offer, new PJ's from Primarmi, and some hair stuff on 3 for 2 at Boots with my Boots points. Then a Tesco meal deal (Prawn Sarnie) :o followed by a detour to B&M to exchange something got yesterday.

Here is a link to the ratios of EVOO - http://www.smartskincare.com/tips/skincare_clean_20060416.html
When I manage to use up everything else in the beauty cupboard, I may give it a try.

Skye got wet out in the rain, so she has had her first bath, piccies on FB in a mo.

DH managed to get the caravan bedding in off the line while I was shopping, so another job off the list.

    Take care all. DG

Shocking news about the wee Welsh lass, but agree with previous poster - WHAT WAS A 5-YEAR OLD DOING PLAYING OUT IN THE DARK AT 7 O'CLOCK?

Whilst it is a huge tragedy that poor April is still missing, I must mention that this town is in far West, and sunset there won't be until around 7pm at the moment. I'm further east by at least an hours drive, and it was still light here at 6.50pm last night as this was when I left college and I remembered being glad it was still light (and is still very light here now). I do hope she is found safe and well.

Miserable day here, rainy and windy. I've got a cold and it's affecting my vertigo so I have spent all day either feeling nauseous or dizzy :(. But had a good day with my work kids, education work in the morning and working on the greenhouse project this afternoon.

I've given in and put the heating on for an hour or so as I feel ill. Just going to cwtch in on sofa all night.

OS wise - HM soup taken for lunch, dishes washed

    Have a good evening all

    x

Far west or not, a 5 year old should not be out on their own, and at that time, should be in getting ready for bed to have enough sleep on a school night.

Don't me wrong, I completely agree with you DG, I just wanted to point out that it may not necessarily have been dark there.

  • Well the windows are in and are lovely, we had the small windows changed to push to open ones instead of losing precious light with a ruddy great bar in the middle. The fitter won't take any money (Not even a deposit) until the whole job is finished to our satisfaction :D I must say that we are very happy so far, it has taken me three years to save enough for this to be done and I need to save for the last three windows to be done, which won't be so bad because there are no French doors and side windows involved this time, they took a big chunk of the money .
I am going to ask him to give me a quote before he leaves on Thursday.
I was surprised when an old neighbour turned up and I didn't recognise him :o (Well it was 35 years ago)
It was really nice to have a good catch up.

Bitsy how did DH get on today?

    Molly congratulations to DS :T

nmlc (((Hugs))) I am with the others about making an escape plan and squirrelling as much money away as you can.
Our council has a specialised team that deal with women in abusive relationships (Be it physical or mental abuse, both are just as bad )
They usually arrange for somewhere to stay until they can get you a home of your own, Or try a pre-emptive visit and see what help they can give you.

DG I agree that the poor little mite shouldn't have been on the streets, but it was a small rural community and I suppose the parents thought that she would be safe :( I really feel for them and I pray that April is found soon.

I am trying to hold back on the heating for as long as possible and hopefully the new windows will help, it was a little taters today with the windows out, but I resisted and just put a cardi on top of my fleece.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

TTFTM: I'm to too sure to be honest. I read that the olive oil is for moisturising and the castor oil is for cleansing, so if you have oily skin you need more castor oil and for dry skin more olive oil. I've hedged my bets and done half and half. I've mixed them in a small plastic bottle. You don't need anything else.
Apparently you massage it into your face then wring out a face cloth in hot water and lay it over your face. When the cloth begins to cool you start wiping the oil off, rinsing the cloth frequently.

I've not tried it yet but am going to have a go in a minute.

I can't think that there is anything there to upset your skin, but who knows. If you try it let us know how you get on.
