The fact of the matter is anyone who is budget or power I would ask them why? Powernis rate is 14.925, budgets is now 14.81 and Airtricity is 13.4. I'm not a mathematical genius but I know what one anyone with any sense will be on. Unless there is something I'm missing??
The Airtricity keypad price of 13.4 is only a very recent change.
Budget were historically always the cheapest for Keypad customers (plenty of people with sense on this thread Best7;)
Yes I will move to Airtricity now but the 13.4 is offered as a discount on their standard rate (which can vary as per T&C) -so watch this space!0 -
Budgets facebook page has gone missing also, probably to stop people asking any questions!0

I moaned about the price increase on their facebook page....guess their actions aren't going down too well!0 -
I had terrible service from Budget when i switched over last year so it doesn't surprise me to hear they are not living up to their price promises.
I for one will be ringing Airtricity tomorrow to switch over to them. Its great to have this local forum here so we can all keep each other updated.0 -
I haven't had any service from Budget as we just pay by direct debit each month and they keep giving us electricity each month.
I see most people here are keypad meters, yet I can't see the direct debit tarrif for airtricity - does anyone know if budget remain the cheapest for DD payers.
I've no problem moving to any company but I dont like the idea of a 2 year contract with anyone, iro if the first year is very cheap0 -
Airtricity prices are at http://www.airtricity.com/uk/home/products/older-and-standard-tariffs/ - look in the 'Standard Plans' and 'Current Plans' sections.
From what I can see, if you pay by direct debit and use eBilling, the standard 'Home Electricity Saver' rate with no fixed contract is 13.47p inc. VAT which is cheaper than Budget (13.97p).
Further discounts are available on 1 or 2 year contracts to new customers.0 -
Bigsy, the information on the site isn't as clear as it could be (possibly deliberatley so?) and that is incorrect. The 13.47 is the year 1 discounted rate and the standard non-discounted rate is 14.40 for payment by DD and ebilling. [Smartsaver Standard tariff]
I think it's a disgrace if Budget have raised the keypad rate as suggested. That would amount to charging some of the least well off customers more just because is is the only way they can budget. :mad:0 -
It is possible now that power NI is now cheaper than airtricity for "old" airtricity customers (ie - not on any of the introductory tariffs)
Power NI have a new tariff out called Energy online and the rate on it 14.39 pence per unitWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

They have,I still have the text from them when they lowered it last month & the one from last Friday when they hiked it back up.
EDIT;
I've just bought some electric & got the longer powercode they use to update the tarrif on the meter.0 -
This is the email response i got from Budget when i asked why they had taken it upon themselves to stick their keypad unit price back up to 14.81
Because of a wholesale price increase, we had to increase our price back to 14.81 which it was before the decrease on 5th October,
Please note that this wholesale price increase affects all suppliers and our price still remains cheaper than Power NI,
