  • What about fines given after 1st October 2012 when there are some changes to legislation (which I don't understand!)?

You are posting all over the place. You seem to think it's not covered when in fact the new legislation has been discussed here for OVER A YEAR.

I have already answered you here, just like we answer everyone who asks this question every other day:

  • I just wanted to say that I too have received letters from high view, regarding parking at fforestfach, on 3rd August, I didn't realise there was a time limit!!! I was determined to stand my ground and not pay, but nearly caved in today, until I read these posts. I had received my 5th letter this morning from the debt recovery company saying I have 7 days to pay a £115- within 7 days or they will be taking me to court! I have had a few sleepless nights worrying whether I'm doing the right thing but felt that as my friend and I were spending money in the shops it wasn't right.
I had taken my friend for radiotherapy at Morrison hospital, then we decided to have some lunch and "retail therapy"!! I actually rang marks & Spencer's when I received my first letter, and the gentleman I spoke to didn't know there were parking restrictions at fforestfach!!!
Thank you soo much for giving me the confidence not to give in and pay
  • They are just notices, noticing that you have been park for longer than you thought you were going to be. How very observant of them, I bet they don't notice much else during their working day, poor souls.

Please just ignore highview, they never ever go to court! They have I think a 3 hour limit in the car park with like 15 different retailers including coffee shops and pizza hut, its very easy to go over the time limit, if you go across the road to where dunelm mill and them are there is no scammers in the car park.. The point is where are the problems parking? Where tescos etc are.

  • I've had exactly the same thing as Funny.onion! Right down to the £145.24 fine threat from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd! I will never shop at Fforestfach again and when the shops around Tesco close they can all point the finger at Tesco!! How can you shop at a Retail Park in under 3 hours? I too nearly wavered when I saw this letter, but they can go whistle dixie!!
  • Hi everyone! I just want to say that I too had a fine from parking at Fforestfach Swansea on August 24th of this year. I have been shopping there for many years and I had no idea that a maximum stay of 3 hours had come in force. I didn't see any signs! I've been back there since to look, and yes they are there but unless you know to look for them, you wouldn't necessarily see them! I think its ridiculous! 3 hours is not enough to shop there. On that particular day, I shopped in nearly every shop there including Tesco and then had supper at pizza hut. I was there for 4 hours and 7 minutes!! When the very first letter arrived i did phone highview to complain about it and told him all of the above, he told me that "Tesco had nothing to do with it, they are a totally separate car park with a separate entrance and that you cannot enter one car park from the other!!!" I argued with him that this was not true at all and ended up putting the phone down. Anyway, I was then advised by a friend that i should have ignored the fine and to ignore any future letters from them, which i have now done. But they have now passed the 'debt' on to a company called Debt Recovery Plus Ltd. My debt now stands at £145.24 and states that if I don't pay, their solicitor may issue County Court proceedings against me. I must say this letter terrifies me! And it worries me that i made that initial phone call. Can any one advise me if i have ruined things by doing that? Also, what should i say or do if a debt collector calls at my house???!!!! One last point too, the car is registered in my husbands name, so the debt letters come to him but it was me that had the car that day. Could this be used in any way if the worst comes to the worst and my husband or myself have to go to court?? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Did you perhaps miss my reply a couple of posts above yours ? Just ignore them from now on, they will continue to harass you if you continue to write to them or contact them in any form. Please take independent impartial advice available here, we have no vested interest so don't take what they say seriously.

There is no loss here , they won't take you to court, the boys won't call around, it won't effect your credit history. If you want to spend time with this complain to all the retailers you went to , take a scan of your receipts and tell them that you will never come to the stores again unless this company issuing illegal demands drop their fake tickets. Tell them that you hold them liable for the harassment you are getting.

If you want help with the above post up a copy of your letter/email and we will help.

Oh come on, wise up please! My 18yr old new-driver niece has managed to ignore six of these fake PCNs and I have ignored two, it's really not a big deal!

    - you did not have a fine.

    - what on earth makes you think Tesco's parking agents can 'fine' you? Get ANGRY about this con, not scared! You were a customer! COMPLAIN!!

    - there is no debt.

    - debt collectors do not call at your house! You are either thinking of bailiffs (Court only) or those door-to-door collectors where there's a signed credit agrement for a mail order catalogue or something. Highview/Debt Recovery Plus do not have a credit agreement signed by you!

    - it will not go to Court.

    - it will not affect your credit rating.

    - why do you think we have this info thread with pics of the letters, including all the known Debt Recovery Plus letters (see below link)? The thread is thre so people like you can LAUGH at this scam and play 'snap' with each letter that matches a Debt Recovery Plus/Zenith letter:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2329119

Do not just look at the letters listed under Highview, as no-one was that bothered by them to update that heading, seeing as the eltters are the same used by other PPCs. Look at all DRP letters you see on that link, and you can predict what will come next, right through to Zenith letters which are the same company.

You have avoided a scam and if you pay now you'd be the biggest mug on the forum...sorry but you really do seem to have fallen for a standard template letter which was listed in our letter chains thread all the time!

Happy Christmas! Why not trot make it your new year's resolution to trot down to Tesco with those threatening letters and a few receipts from when you were/are a customer, and ask exactly what the Store Manager is going to do about this ridiculous harassment of a customer? No appeal, no excuses for your behaviour. YOU WERE THEIR CUSTOMER. And Tesco think these fake fine letters are OK do they? If so then tell the Store Manager you are off, never to return - and that by the way they are fake fines which no idiot would actually pay so why on earth are they allowing this scumbag firm on site?
