Highview parking fine

Hi Funny Onion,
What the latest on this? Have they given up now?
Thanks
Kayfunny.onion wrote: »Hi, I have found existing Threads on this topic, But they advised not to bump it so I started a new one.
I have received a 'legal action pending' letter saying they have previously sent two other notices! I haven't received anything from them until receiving this.
I was for parking 4.22 hh.mm at Fforestfach in Swansea. I had my lunch in m&s which was busy and took about an hour as well as mooching round the shop. I went to the the other shops including Boots, river island, etc the usual suspects and then I went into tesco. I don't think that was an unreasonable amount of time for a retail park considering I had lunch! I arrived at 12.14 and departed at 16.36 according to them!
Anyway, I didn't actually know there was a time limit..
So, I am right just to ignore this legal action pending letter and not make any contact with them at all?
Incidentally there are two exits and entrances and they only have sent photos of me coming and going through one.
Anyone else got one of these at Fforestfach or similar?
Thank you for any kind advice, not been on here for awhile but know how lovely everyone is on here. X:)0 -
Hi all,
Just wanted to add my experience. I too have received numerous letters from Highview parking and now from debt recovery. I initially replied to Highview detailing my mitigating circumstances (broken ankle) with medical evidence objecting to the 'fine' but was informed that as I had not replied within the time frame stated that all further correspondence should be forwarded to the debt recovery. I have now ignored subsequent letters and sent letters of complaint to each of the retailers. I've been quite worried about these threatening letters, so glad I found this thread and others in the same situation. It's absolutely ridiculous to expect people to spend all their hard earned cash in 3 hours... especially when hobbling around on crutches! £115 'fine' for 28 minutes parking... hell no!0 -
Thanks for posting Towergirl, hopefully someone will see it and think about what these invoices are, you are a customer, you are spending money, there is no loss. The thing to ask these retailers is where do they want your cash, in their tills or in a third party unethical company's back pocket.

I'm currently ignoring Highview's letters, and don't believe Popla is independant the website is so poor I think it's part of the mirage.
Anyway I'm more than happy to see Highview in court.
My only concern is that this document from the Department of Transport does seem to side with the conmen.
guidance-unpaid-parking-charges.pdf link on Popla site.
It's on gov.uk so must be genuine?
Cheers

Popla is owned by the bpa so there is a question about their independence. You can't go there until you challenge the ticket you've got and they give you a code to use popla. It does have its uses does popla but highview never do court, if you are happy with getting junk mail carry on ignoring them. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Everyone sides with the conmen, it is a multi Billion pound operation.
makes the maphia (banned word) look like a children's tea party.
Everyone is desperate to get their dirty grubby Little hands on some of this free cash.
Retailers conspiring with organised criminal gangs to get a share to DVLA filling their boots selling your private data to these criminal gangs .
It is completely out of control, the free cash is polluting everyone's soul.
Still does not make them right, no matter how many are involved.

I'm hoping all the shops in Fforestfach follow Comet, HMV, Jessops etc. wrote to all the MDs and they said "nothing they can do about 3 hour limit". Of course there is, if they all told the landlord they would relocate unless they scapped Highview they would have to make changes. Internet shopping for me, everyone on here, their families and their friends must boycott Fforestfach.
Rant over ;-)

Pretty hard to see tesco following those and you can always use morfa instead, though they have different scammers there, as does tostreif you want shopping without scammers go to the enterprise park

Maybe not Tesco, but Mamas & Papas is full of stuff you can buy online much cheaper and Boots is always very quiet these days. Boarders went under.
A few shops on the otherside went bust, MFI and a bed place.
I'm not saying any of these went under due to lost custom due to parking charges, but customers did shop elsewhere and as a result they went bust.
MD's need to question everything that may put off customers if they wish to survive the credit crunch.
Good tip on the enterprise park.0 -
The funny thing about the other side of the road is where m&s food , Currys etc are is that they don't appear to have scammers there. I always think this when dealing with these situations, where would retailers prefer your hard earned, in their tills or in the pockets of third party unscrupulous companies who leach off their clientele ?
I know that shops have closed down or moved as a direct consequence of these companies, have a look at Parc Tawe and how many empty units there are. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
