I think balls if wool have gone right up in price lately.. it is cheaper to buy a jumper than to knit one now!
I think the 3 balls I just got for Squeaks jumper were about £3.50 a ball.. good job it has taken me an age to knit it.. I wouldn't pay £10+ for a jumper for her so it seems bizarre that I'd pay so much for the wool.

no it was fancy designer 'silk ribbon' type that you could make a scarf out of a ball.
i really have enough wool to last me but i can always make room for another ball if the price and colour is right.
i do loads of good cause knitting so always try and look out for it cheap at the caroot.

pigpen Aldi have wool is this week, i havent been myself as i didnt trust myself not to buy more as i havent used the last lot i bought there but i had an email about it last week, theres is really nice quality wool
the wool i bought for my nieces welcome blankets was really expensive but they were worth it, i kept looking at it very year were were on holiday thinking id love to knit that but couldnt justify the cost when my brothers twins came along it was the perfect excuse to buy it. The hardest thing i had to knit was the third blanket matching the one i knitted for my niece we lost my brother asked me to make him one to keep, i wont ever be able to knit anything in that wool againSPC~12 ot 124

Afternoon flyladies.
I have woken up with a cold. Not what I wanted ahead of starting my new job tomorrow
Vanilla - Lucky is adorable!
Pix - you are doing great!
toochoosey - hope your DD gets better soon
Been on a walk and to a street market today. Not much done on the flying front except for WM x 2, sorting dry laundry, and washing up dishes. I will do a bit of flying now and I want to have an early night to recover from my cold, and watch some TV curled up in bed. But, before I get to that, this is my plan for the next few hours:
WM - empty, hang out, reload
Handwash dress and tights
Ironing (very full basket!)
Hoover upstairs
Cook dinner (lamb and potato hotpot - comfort food is just what I need!)
Wash up
S&S kitchen
Then I will go to bed for some TV and do my nails. Bliss!0 -
Mrs MP... I have stacks of the stuff I need to work through before I contemplate more. Aldi here is really scary.. there is always a brawl either in the shop or directly outside the door!

Quick question, will the school allow DD to go in tomorrow when she has been ill today? If she can't I will have to let Breakfast club know that I won't be in work. TIA xx0

Hi there. A very productive Sunday for me. OH got back safe and sound last night, and by the time he'd brought all his stuff from the car, had a cuppa and shower it was 9.30, so a late meal, a natter, a comedy to unwind and it was bedtime!
However, today I've done two wash loads, a HHI, made home-made veg soup and a curry in the SC for tonight (yum), we then have the two Strictlys to watch - hurrah!! (I'm easily pleased!!!).
Normal work this week, and I want to prepare some art work tomorrow morning, and do something a bit different with my residents. I like to ring the changes and make things relevant to their lives when possible, and it keeps it fresh for me.
Good (and healing) wishes to everyone, I do hope those feeling poorly are soon feeling better, and, the sun is out today! Washing dried and garden drying out too. R x0 -
toochoosey I don't think school will be happy if she not completely over sickness, she might pass it on... I would keep her off tomorrow xx*If you have nothing nice to say... say nothing*"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
