  • One UU - Clarins Blue Lotus Oil. This had been hanging around for years.... probably about 7/8. I started off using it on my face but my skin didn't seem to like it that much, wondered if it had gone off! Anyway, slapped the rest of it on my legs to use it up... not very MSE I guess but I just wanted rid.

    INs

I don't know why I thought I could walk into L'Occitane without buying anything.

Left with Rose shower gel, precious cream and precious serum. I then also bought the current special offer bag on mini products. I got given a decent sample of the precious night cream

I can't honestly claim I needed any of them, though I am out of Rose shower gel and have matching body lotion to use up as well as some Jo Malone Red Roses perfume to go with it.

Following the Clarins face oil I've decided any really old face creams (I have a few half used ones that are quite a few years old) I am just going to use up as body / hand cream. If they really worked well on my face I'd have used them up at the time, and I suspect they are past their best in terms of effectiveness now. Most of them are jars which aren't the best in terms of hygiene anyway.

I've also got some old face scrubs that are really too gritty for my slightly red prone skin - so those are going to get used up as body scrubs.

Must try harder next month, really not done that well this month. :(
  • Went through my box of face products not currently in use. Bit scary. Found some Avon eye cream in there (both a full size and a sample), and I know it's at least 8 years since I bought anything from Avon. The skin round my eyes is a bit sensitive so I definitely don't want to risk that.

Also found a 5ml sample of tinted moisturiser in a shade way too dark for my skin tone, that also must be at least 3 years old.

    So both are getting TA.

Also found some pretty elderly face cream that I am going to use up on body etc. My feet could do with some extra moisture. :)

It is so lovely in there, I bet your new haul is beautiful :T

Oh, it is. It's one of those shops I always enjoy going into - good customer service. They show you a few things and help if asked but don't hang around all the time or make you feel like you are getting the hard sell.

Once I've used up my stash I expect I'll be there a bit more often, love the hand cream, foot cream, variety of body lotions and shower gels and some of the face products are lovely too.

But I do need to get rid of some of the older stuff first. I would say it's getting silly... but I think I've had a stash of way more stuff than I could use for at least 15 years, if not longer so the "getting" is a bit redundant. My mum was the same, though at least her purchases didn't tend to be as expensive as mine are tend to be these days. Still, at forty I can't seriously blame my bad habits on conditioning - have to take responsibility for my behavior.

It's not that I can't afford nice stuff, but I should really be overpaying my mortgage and saving more money than I do at the moment, I think if anything this year I've eaten into my savings.

    I have been NAUGHTY

    IN:

*2 cheamy eyeshadows (£1 each). They came from the pound shop. They work very well as an eyeshadow primer but I supposed that doesn't excuse me....
    * Generic Asda conditioner HG. This replaces my Hello Hydration conditioner which was a UU. I like hair conditioner for shaving better than soap which leaves my skin dry and flaky.
    * Almond oil.HG I use it as a carrier oil mixed with castor oil for my eyelashes and alone for my skin. I buy a small bottle every winter.

    13. Pearl Drops Beauty Sleep - Overnight Serum for Teeth & Gums 20ml

Gahhhh! I'm torn between loving everything I bought (except the Melvita Lavender water!) and feeling a bit overwhelmed for having added so much to my stash! As I have it now, I am going to enjoy it but I am also putting myself on a purchase ban - please keep me in check my lovelies!

Ooohh can't wait to see what you got! I love using Avene products and would love to actually go to France to immerse myself in the beauty products over there! Will have to just wait till next weekend and see what I can pick up in Duty Free on my way to Budapest!

On my own in the flat tonight so might have a bit of a pamper! Hope you've all had a good week, have a great weekend and hugs to those that need them.

ruby_eskimo - if you plan a trip to Paris, let me know and I will tell you the BEST place to shop for products (for range of products, amazing prices and easy central location) including Avene! Have a lovely time in Budapest! :D

I tried looking for your stash list in your previous posts but couldn't find it - go on, what's your number ;):p

You did however remind me that I have the REN kit that came with Red magazine. Which I think officially puts me over the 300 mark. So yeah thanks for that :rotfl:

I'll ditto that. We're buying our first house as we speak, and I'm so irritated with myself for still having credit card debt. I'm not on a brilliant wage but I want to make the changes now, so when the salary improves it can be used to overpay mortgage/nice holidays without dipping in to credit cards etc.

I honestly don't know, really should sit down and make a list. I've just been recording INs and UUs etc. I suspect my biggest stash is body lotions / body butters. Some I wonder what possessed me to buy - I mean banana fragranced body butter and matching shower gel. Am I 5?? I know they were in the sale, but seriously!

I only managed to pay my credit card debt off when I remortgaged my first house. Managed to keep them under control since by only using one and having it set up to pay off in full by direct debit each month. I suspect that the capital I have (savings plus equity in house) is actually all driven by previous increases in house prices. Not exactly a reliable way of saving.

Unfortunately it's not just toiletries I seem to hoard, I have tons of CDs even though most of the time at home I either have the radio or TV on. I have about 20 DVDs I've bought, some years ago and still not got round to watching, even though others I own have been rewatched multiple times. I have I reckon about 50 unread books, and though a small number were gifts or passed on by friends, most were bought by me. Even my fridge has more food in it than I can expect to eat (and given I'm overweight you could say I hoard calories too!)

Anyway, I hope the move goes well, exciting buying your first home. :)
  • UU:
    smashbox mini primer - WBA
REN Night Serum mini - WNBA, this smells "fishy" to me.
l’occitane mini shampoo and conditioner - hotel freebies from TWO summers ago :o wnba, not keen on the smell.
bare minerals foundation - HG, got another pot at home and a spare thanks to my beauty bible package
bare minerals mineral veil illuminating - wba but its too glittery to just be used as a powder, i mix a tiny bit with my foundation and it gives a nice glow.
Laura Mercier mini eyeshadow - one of my HG eyesadows, they have such lovely colours.

also a Susan Posnick blusher, not quite sure what to count it as:rotfl: this was nearly a TA, realised its possibly the oldest thing i own and the built in sponge hasnt even been washed since i got it! washed it and it fell apart mid wash  went a bit DIY and decanted it into the empty bare minerals foundation pot, added the last smidgen of the glittery mineral veil to give it a bit of depth and toned the colour down with some normal translucent powder and now i have a lovely new blusher :j
