No buying unnecessary toiletries in October

A UU last night and an IN this evening:
UU - Santuary Body Lotion - WBA (although I can't imagine ever running out of body lotion!!) - nice clean spa like scent, light lotion that sank in well and well designed bottle which you could use without having to cut open part way through!
IN - Garnier Olia Silk & Shine Conditioner - read about this oil based hair colour recently so thought I'd give it a whirl while its on introductory offer - no ammonia so hopefully will smell better and be kinder to hair. I only count the conditioner as don't stash colours unless they're 2 for so much on offer and they are most definitely not unnecessary - I need them to cover my greys! Will most likely do the colour tomorrow night so I'll let you know what the results are in case anyone else is curious.0 -
Still no more UUs to report as yet but in the interest of practicing for halloween i have applied a lovely shade of green Avon face mask to hopefully calm my angry red spots.
Hope everyone is well and to those who have a showergel addiction ...i have 6 bottles of the stuff but guess what .....no shower :rotfl:oh well its a good job it works as bubble bath just the same!Consolidated and under control 42 payments to go.:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:(:o;):p:([STRIKE]£7028.50[/STRIKE]£5990.43Aim: 35 and Debtfree0 -
Painted my nails last night in Avon Gunmetal.
I own this colour as well dolly and have pulled it out to use soon. xrogueylawyer wrote: »Ok, deep breath. I'm going to join in on this challenge.
I've been trying to do this unofficially for several months, but I think I need to be named and shamed.
Last year in the Boxing Day Sales I bought an *awful* lot of body products. I spent a total of around £120 for enough bath products to last me, what I thought would be, a year.
We're moving house in two months and I have just packed a box of toiletries that I know I'm not even going to get to before we move (several shower gels/bath bubbles open in bathroom but I've tried to finish one thing before opening another). The box includes 7 full size bottles of shower gel, 5 FS body butters, 2 FS body lotions, 4 bottles of lens solution (lenses are being cancelled as soon as I get the next batch through) 2 bottles of insect repellant (?!) a bottle of sunscreen I don't think I've even opened.... never mind on all the miniatures of body wash/bubbles/lotion.
I've scaled right back on the makeup and now have basics I maintain whilst trying to use up all the 'extras' but I still spent £30 in bodyshop and god knows how much in Boots last month!
I really don't think there's any hope for me. One day I will be found dead in the house, surrounded by nothing but a million bottles of body wash...
Welcome. I too can relate re: shower gels. My stash always grows at Christmas time too with the influx of pressies and those bargains I couldn't resist. Am still working my way through them now. xBack for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

The amount of times I've not done things up properly and they've leaked and made everything around them sticky. I ruined some once-worn skinny jeans by doing that once
I feel your pain: a bottle of Estee Lauder's finest Doublewear foundation did the same to me once on a train in China, destroying a white T shirt and meaning I didn't have any foundation for the rest of the year as all the shades over there were far too dark for me! :mad:Please call me 'Pickle'
No More Buying Books: ???
No More Buying DVDs: ???
NMB Toiletries ??? and I've gone back for my Masters at the University of Use Ups!

Oh no, and Estee Lauder as wellI'd be incredibly mad  Foundation is the one product I cannot live without (I have awful skin
) so I'll take note that I need to take lots of foundation with me if I ever go to China, just in case

i used that at weekend, its ok. it does smell a lot better then normal stuff! covers ok too, still got bits of red poking through underneath but i've yet to find a colour that gets rid of it!0 -

i have a dilemma, some of my eyeliners are so old, despite daily sharpening, its an actual battle to get them to even draw a line on my eyelid, and i mean a pulling/digging in kind of battle. part of me is saying if they are this bad, they are dried up beyond use, nothing will work and i should just bin them as i find them like this and move on. but the :money: part of me is saying i bought them, i left them and i should bl**dy well put up with them and let it be a lesson to me next time not to over buy what will clearly go off. what would you all do?
I say sling them, not good to pull delicate eye tissue, I ended up with loads, 'cos they were always the cheapy option to get GWP's when the needed product was skincare and 2 purchases were needed! I recently had a session sharpening and testing them all and throwing the duff ones, as well as consigning all the new, but wrong colour GWP lipsticks to the charity shop. Take a deef breath and do it:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Thanks for the welcome. In the interests of full disclosure, here's my list. I'm almost embarrassed to post this.
This list does not include any makeup, nail polish (I only have a few, I'm a biter) massage oils, essential oils or my shampoo and conditioner (got it down to one full size of each) or shave gel (again only one).
My partner has just looked on in disbelief as I have emptied three full drawers to list and count up...
My one final note of denial - the mini soaps are not to be used, they were something collected by my partner when he used to work away.
