  • Ok, deep breath. I'm going to join in on this challenge.

I've been trying to do this unofficially for several months, but I think I need to be named and shamed.

Last year in the Boxing Day Sales I bought an *awful* lot of body products. I spent a total of around £120 for enough bath products to last me, what I thought would be, a year.

We're moving house in two months and I have just packed a box of toiletries that I know I'm not even going to get to before we move (several shower gels/bath bubbles open in bathroom but I've tried to finish one thing before opening another). The box includes 7 full size bottles of shower gel, 5 FS body butters, 2 FS body lotions, 4 bottles of lens solution (lenses are being cancelled as soon as I get the next batch through) 2 bottles of insect repellant (?!) a bottle of sunscreen I don't think I've even opened.... never mind on all the miniatures of body wash/bubbles/lotion.

I've scaled right back on the makeup and now have basics I maintain whilst trying to use up all the 'extras' but I still spent £30 in bodyshop and god knows how much in Boots last month!

I really don't think there's any hope for me. One day I will be found dead in the house, surrounded by nothing but a million bottles of body wash...

    Welcome rogueylawyer! :)
We can all relate here, shower gel is incredibly addictive... You will find many people here with many many bottles of it (including myself!)
Posting an inventory really helped me realise the extent of it all Xxx

At last...............a UU (well a UU and GA)

UU first - Aussie hair spray - can't remember the name but it was supposed to add shine - all it did was make it sticky so WNBA.

GA - Sanctuary 24hr moisturiser - made my skin itch so gifted it to a buddy who is sanctuary mad!

I don't think this buying no toiletries is doing my bank balance any good..........in an effort not to mooch through Mr B's or SD at the weekend I went looking at cars instead and ended up treating myself to a new motor:eek::eek::eek:

Think a bottle of bubbles and a new mascara might have been a bit cheaper :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I pick it up next Saturday which will keep me out of the shops again ..........can't wait :D:D

:naughty: Save money on toiletries: no new/duplicate items until I've used up all existing supplies
  • hello Rogueylawyer!

i have a dilemma, some of my eyeliners are so old, despite daily sharpening, its an actual battle to get them to even draw a line on my eyelid, and i mean a pulling/digging in kind of battle. part of me is saying if they are this bad, they are dried up beyond use, nothing will work and i should just bin them as i find them like this and move on. but the :money: part of me is saying i bought them, i left them and i should bl**dy well put up with them and let it be a lesson to me next time not to over buy what will clearly go off. what would you all do?

I buy C&P for Emma and tend to pick one up from John Lewis when she needs them as we usually bob to the Trafford Centre a couple of times a month. If not, I wait for LE to offer free p&p and order from there. She does usually send a free sample of something along with your order.

I used to use C&P myself until LE changed the formula remvoing the almond milk and it has not worked for me since. I've been using her Nourisihg Body Cream and I think she's changed the formula of that too as I''ve noticed it's starting to roll back off my skin the way that her hand repair does. I think that the hand repair does this as it contains white clay and my skin can't absorb this. Boo if she has changed this formula also.

    I agree with VALM...

I subscribe to the Liz Earle mailing list. Every so often they have a free p&p offer which they will send an email out for. They used to be for a day or two, but there was one recently for a whole week. I have always received a free gift (whether paying for postage or when free p&p). It's usually a mini size, but I have also received free full sized products too... so it's a great way of trying the rest of the range!
There was a thread about this product a couple of years ago... more finding cheaper alternatives though but might be useful reading for some.

As for stocking up cheaper how about this?

Nothing to report here... I guess no INs counteracts no UUs!

Thank you very much for the advice ladies, much appreciated! :T

Welcome  The good news is you've come to the right place :D If you've not already done so, it might be worth thinking about making a stash list so you know how big the 'problem' is - it might seem daunting but its worth it for the shock factor  and it makes it so much easier to keep track of where you're upto and what you have, avoids duplicate buying (sometimes :o)

    Good Luck!

Very pleased - I was on the verge of buying new toothpaste as mine is spluttering, but a sample came through the post today. :D
Two days til I move house now, and I have managed to fill a huge box with body lotions, various nail varnishes, make up, cotton balls etc. My OH was shocked that I had enough products to fill up such a big box.
I seem to have about 5 mascaras! Any tips to make them more runny again (they seem to dry out a bit after a while) and make them clump free? I am a serial mascara buyer - I use them for about 2 weeks before I become unsatisfied with them :o

Haha Pickle, your location 'Jar of vinegar ;o)' really tickled me - thank you :rotfl:

The amount of times I've not done things up properly and they've leaked and made everything around them sticky. I ruined some once-worn skinny jeans by doing that once
