    2 UUs today. :)

Superdrug toner: WNBA, didn't really do anything but at least it was alcohol free.
TBS Passion fruit body butter: don't think I'd buy this scent again, it's ok but I prefer other ones.

Have another uu from last night - REN Frankincense revitalising night cream - 15ml size. I have used two of these now and whilst it feels nice on the skin and I do like the woody smell I am not noticing any major change to my skin so probably WNBA when I have used the other 15ml one I have in the stash.

    Hi everyone -

thanks for those who responded to me about their skincare preferences. I definitely am glad to see that I am not alone in this.

My boss came to work today (after not seeing him for over 5 months) and was telling me all the things I was doing wrong. I was so upset that I finally decided to leave this company. So until I get another stable job, I think I need to slow down on my shopping. I bust my a&$%$ at work and it was really disheartening to hear someone tell me that I was doing things the wrong way, when I have done nothing but save my branch from shutting.

That's awful! I'm sure you'll move onto bigger and better things where you are more appreciated, that'd be karma :T

I have a lot of skin problems but have never found that more expensive brands have helped any more than the cheaper stuff. The problem is that I don't want to spend £20 plus on cleanser, moisturiser etc and then find it's no better than own brand stuff. I was using Dermalogica for a few weeks - had a starter kit, cleanser and moisturiser used up, but still have toner which I think will be a LHJ. I'm currently using a Murad facial wash which came free with a magazine. It's OK but nothing special so far. I'm also using Neal's Yard moisturiser which came free with a magazine and I hate it and would never buy it.

If I found products that worked for me then I would pay premium prices, within reason, but experimentation is just too expensive.

Totally agree with this (and I completely hated that Neal's Yard moisturiser too and found the Murad cleansers very meh!). I do like a few premium products that I've been able to try with either magazine freebies or sample sizes from GWP or the odd LIB box. That said if I can find something cheaper that does the job just as well and I don't feel its too much of a compromise then I'll buy that every time as bills continually go up at the moment so I have to look for places to save the pennies. Even if money was no issue, I'd be gutted to pay £50 for something which turned out to be rubbish!
  • Hello ladies, not posted for a while and it has taken me ages to catch up with all your posts!

Welcome back willowbee, hope you are on the mend after the evil assessment :(

Sorry to hear about your manager tokki, it seems that you are much better out of that job in the long run, all the best finding somewhere your efforts are appreciated! :)

I have some UU (but more Ins :o)

Johnsons baby shampoo - WNBA, I bought this with the intention of cleaning make up brushes with it, but I rarely clean my brushes so it seemed best just to use it up as shampoo. Needless to say I do not have baby hair so it wasn't the most effective shampoo, lovely smell though :D

Lush soap sample - WNBA, if I remember correctly this one was called 'Bob', nothing special and probably not made anymore!

Bar of orange soap with spongy bits in it - WNBA, this was a present from years ago. The spongy bits did come in handy after I applied fake tan to my legs and wanted to scrub my hands!

And now the Ins - I placed an order on Salonskincare because I wanted to try the Murad anti blemish starter set as I have had a massive spot break out the last few weeks and I don't like it! I won't count the treatment gel as an In because I don't have a stash of spot cream (it is well used in my house!) so there are 2 ins - the clarifying cleanser and moisturiser.

I also bought a Caudalie cleansing water as I was interested to try the brand and they sent me 3 samples of serum, 2 Vinexpert and 1 Vinosource so I will give these a go after I have used the Murad moisturiser.

I'm off to dig out some sachets so I can balance out my Ins for the month!

Seeing as we are in the full throes of gorgeous autumn weather (my favourite time of year) I cracked open a bottle of BS Spiced Pumpkin shower gel this morning and it is soooooo gorgeous. It smells nice in the bottle but when you lather it up the spiciness comes through and I love it. I really want to try the new Philosophy pumpkin one but I know their scents don't linger on the skin but the BS one does and this wasonly £2 (£4 full price I think).

There is a bit of theme here as last week on holiday I had a couple of the new Starbucks spiced pumpkin lattes and they were yummy too.

Nipped into town this afternoon and superdrug had Jergens body lotions half price so I now have two of the Original one which has a cherry almond fragrance. Yum Yum.

    Three more UU:

Radox Nourish Shower Cream - WBA, standard!

St Ives face wipes- found these a little scratchy on first use but actually they're fine and a bargain at around £1.50 from HB, especially given that there's 35 to a pack, whereas some other makes are as little as 20 - WMBA

Liz Earle C & P - First time I've ever tried this (?!) - must admit I thought can it really be that good..... But it is!! Amazing, definite HG for me and won't be buying anything else once the stash of cleansers and makeup removers is worked through. Left my skin feeling super clean and refreshed, magic the way makeup, including mascara, just melts off! I know I'm preaching to the converted here, suffice to say its well deserving of its cult status and the price isn't too hefty either so very impressed all round. Would be interested to know what others found to be the most MSE way of stocking up on this? John Lewis seems a good bet with free delivery.

I buy C&P for Emma and tend to pick one up from John Lewis when she needs them as we usually bob to the Trafford Centre a couple of times a month. If not, I wait for LE to offer free p&p and order from there. She does usually send a free sample of something along with your order.

I used to use C&P myself until LE changed the formula remvoing the almond milk and it has not worked for me since. I've been using her Nourisihg Body Cream and I think she's changed the formula of that too as I''ve noticed it's starting to roll back off my skin the way that her hand repair does. I think that the hand repair does this as it contains white clay and my skin can't absorb this. Boo if she has changed this formula also.

A UU for me: Elemis Oxygenating Night Cream. WNBA. Think that LE Skin Repair Moisturiser is better. Let's hope they don't mess around with the formula of this one also.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
