    I'd go for standing.

If in doubt, why not ask him in conversation as a general question if you can.

Well I'm late 50's and I like to stand at concerts. If there are no standing tickets or they are sold out I buy a seated one but the minute the group/singer comes on stage I am up and dancing!

I can't see the point of sitting at a concert unless it is slowish music.

It always amuses me when so many people stay seated the whole time

  • Just bought Reckless Love tickets, £2.50 per ticket to print them out myself...grr.

Asking Alexandria are awesome, I hope he has a great time :)

With all due respect it sounds like you're seeing things from your own point of view rather than his. You didn't enjoy it so you'd rather he was seated.

You said yourself he's 'fearless'. As a young lad, I think he'd much prefer standing up

I read it as OP had a scary experience where she fell down at a concert and was concerned for the safety of her son more than anything.

I sit at concerts because due to an injury to one of my legs standing for more than thirty minutes at a time is extremely uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, in my experience, once the main act comes on everyone stands up anyway which is why I don't get to concerts as much as I'd like.

More to do with wearing unsuitable footwear though. High heels aren't in for guys this year so he'll be fine :p

I used to go to a lot of gigs with pretty full-on mosh pits and I have to say the crowds are generally very good about helping people up if they fall and making sure that nobody gets hurt. As a 12 year old (girl), I went to see Metallica at Milton Keynes Superbowl and lived to tell the tale, so a reasonably burly 15 year old should survive a gig at Brixton.

I lost my 15 year old brother when he went to that gig, he went down to the front  He appeared some time later with a bruised arm but it wasn't broken. he was really pleased with himself for being at the front, and bragged to him mates for years.

I was sat on the hill eating a hotdog and waving a lighter to 'nothing else matters' :D

Tell him if he gets knocked to the floor to get up straight away, so he doesn't get his hands stomped on - I've been trampled on at many a gig by big blokes in docs etc.

The only real problem I had was getting my inhaler knocked out of my hands and being ill until I managed to find someone after the gig who would let me use theirs. As has been said, make sure there's a zipped compartment in trousers, hoodie or whatever for things like inhaler, phone, train ticket home etc.

Got it in one, that's exactly what I was scared about though, aside from the G'n'R riot you don't often hear of kids being trampled to death at gigs and as rado jo said, gig goers all help each other out and somebody helped me up and no doubt they'd do the same for him!

I bought my boys (18 and 16 at the time) seated tickets as I thought it would be better as they had a specific place. Although they really enjoyed the concert, they said they would have preferred to have been standing (in the mosh pit). As an overprotective mum, I had doubts of them being in there after stories I had heard.
