Sometimes there is a minimum age of 16 for standing anyway, have you checked?

I've just checked the website and under 14s need to be accompanied so he misses that age cut off, I can't see anything about ages needing to be seated but it does say they will refuse entry if they think they'll be unsafe but tbh his shoulders are as wide as his dad's already so he's no reed!

    Standing. Deffo.

I have a 20 year old son who has been going to Brixton o2 since he was 16. He always stands.

One thing I would say is make sure he wears something with a zip pocket if he has a phone. A friend of my son had her iPhone stolen from her bag at the Brixton o2 a few weeks ago down at the front.

What band is it? I think that would affect my decision too.

    It's Asking Alexandria

DS went to T4 Party in the Park last year when he was 15, and he was right at the front of the stage, squished in, couldn't move, trampled on etc ....... and he loved it! ;)

Okay, thanks all for your help, I'm obviously just getting old, I'm going to go for the standing tickets!

  • I'm another vote for standing! If he finds it too hectic, he can always move further back. I would say seating though if he's on the smaller side (which I think you said he isn't?) because if security thought he wasn't 14 and were being particularly forceful of the rules, he can't prove his age iyswim and then he might not be allowed in the standing at all. Unless he has a passport I guess! So I'm probably talking rubbish anyway lol!

EDIT: Just saw you already posted lol! Your son will be pleased with your choice i reckon!

If the band is really popular the standing downstairs tickets will sell out first, so if you don't make your mind up soon the decision will be made for you.

Good point so just done it, they're on their way!

£2.50 extra for non email tickets  but they'll look better than an email printout on Christmas morning.

I'd say standing. I've been standing at gigs by bands like Asking Alexandria since I was 14 (I'm now 20) and never had any trouble at all! Also, in most venues if you have a seating ticket it's pretty easy to get into the standing area anyway, if you really want to.

Given the band I'd go standing hun, the crowds are still good but not quite as aggressive as other bands. He will love it and love you for it x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
