I'm always lurking Kat. Just in little segments. I fall asleep pretty constantly.
Your overtime is bigger than my monthly wage and I have no chance of overtime (at least not paid). So well done!
Writing is a fairly fickle thing, don't get me wrong I read a lot but books or articles without a clear purpose will struggle to gain long term readership. For example, I read a book that was initial about a guy who wanted to win the lottery and get out of his job, it turned into some pyscho-ghost-telling the future-rubbish. Writing about money is all well and good but what about money is it that you want to write about? Where is your story coming from? Writing about oneself is great but without drawing in from the outer world it may be difficult to maintain readership. Have a look at the really big money blogs- earlyretirementextreme.com or monevator.
As for questions about my saving, I have saved a fair amount. I have a bit less than 8k in all accounts. But I haven't learnt to drive at all. :-/ It's scary.
I want new qualifications, I'm making a list of the ones that interest me and hopefully I can afford them eventually. The OU doesn't have the masters I want to do.. :-/0 -
Hi PEATY!!!!!... Always lovely to have you lurk and post when you can!!!.
I have ideas yes - many of them and a friend is helping me fine tune them. It will never be my main income, nor would I want it to. Good blogs and websites earn a lot of money if time and effort is invested wisely but it's only something I would ever do on the side unless it incorporates money-saving, food and travel.... MSE is restrictive to be honest and there is a lot more that could be incorporated to my challenges and my blogging... it would be entirely mine.. does that make sense?
Although does this lineWriting about oneself is great but without drawing in from the outer world it may be difficult to maintain readership
Amazing, amazing savings though Peaty. Despite whatever you say your wage might be you are doing extremly well.. yes the driving is scary. No harm in leaving it until you really feel you are ready... do you actually need a car now or is it more to look attractive to future employers in having a license. My friend has EB and gets a car through her gonvernment scheme.. do the government assist Fibro sufferers as well with a vehicle....?
As for falling asleep are you sure you are not a feline..? Mine for up with me at 0500.. pottered around for a few minutes then promptly fell asleep on the floor before dragging her fluffy-self onto her platform again.... I personally can sleep anywhere...
And yes I have picked up one or two of those books thinking I was in for a treat only to wonder what on earth kind of person dreams up this tripe and actually gets published!!! :rotfl:“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Thanks!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. I never said boring! I just didn't get my point across, mm... The longest running musicians tends to be the ones who are constantly reinventing themselves. People are just annoyingly fickle. :money:
Having multiple streams of income is a great idea. Maybe you should start a challenge to see how many different kinds of incomes there are.
I have spent all of my savings (in my imagination) on courses.0 -

Perhaps you should write about your travels if you can find a unique focus...0

Oh Kat! Your travel plans sound sooooooo exciting!!! So wish I had had the chance to travel when I left college and before I went to uni but having my daughter at the age of 17 sort of put paid to that!!! I do dream that one day I might get to go and see the world but we will wait and see.
Juicing still but have had a few slip ups. Day 5 I went to a regatta day beside the seaside in Beer. Had a lovely time and wine comes from grapes!!!!! Not sure how the chips or garlic bread fitted in but needed something to absorb the wine!!!! Have made and frozen 6 juices tonight so hoping that will make things easier as have quite a busy week ahead but going to carry on where I can but like you - just trying to eat healthily inbetween juices.
Had a good chat with hubby this evening on debt-busting front and have a real plan in place for next year or so, but will update on your other thread.

Am having a good old think. I like getting up early as I get lots done - shame I can't do it when I have a day off. Arf arf!
Heading to the Library today to get Duncan Bannatyne's book if I can or Richard Branson's.. I am making more long term goals.
Frightening myself really!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
